“Spit and sawdust springs to mind”

What a tiny grotty little hole. not enough room to swing a cat, seats are uncomfortable, bar prices best described as extortionate. staff are friendley and helpfull, probally amazed that anybody visits there. maidstone being the county town of kent really should invest in a new theatre where hopefully they could attract bigger acts instead of just the local productions. we went to see the pantomine and got to say it was'nt to bad, just a pity about the theatre. assembly halls tun wells, marlowe at canterbury or the orchard at dartford, 100% better.

“Christmas pantos a great day for all”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

We have been coming to the christmas pantomine for over 6 years now and have to say we love it every year. The price for a family ticket is so much cheaper than the bigger kent theatres and because the theatre is so much smaller you feel part of the production and don't miss a thing.
Friendly helpful staff and a must for any family treat

“Lovely traditional theatre!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Took grandaughter to see panto for first time. Been many times before and love the character of the place. Good value and atmosphere. Seating is always good as it is small. Production great - typical panto but as Brits we know the format and always love it.Granddaughter loved it too.

“Christmas panto 2012”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

Took my grandson along with wife and daughter to see Cinderella. The theatre itself is a nice but dated theatre. We have visited many times to see local productions. This time was the first time to sit in balcony which afforded excellent views. The front stalls offer a good view but looking up at a stage is never my favourite. The theatre has a web site so you can view a plan of seating. Also the booking service when done in person is always very good and informative. The bar is reasonably well stocked and you are allowed to take drinks in if transferred to a plastic beaker.

The panto itself was over a coupe of hours and whilst no-one of international importance was involved the kids don't care. The production was excellent and kept the kids easily involved. As always the jokes were double edged so both kids and adults could laugh at them.

Well done everyone. Great performance. Looking forward to 2013 productions at our provincial theatre.

“A nice little theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

Have visited the Hazlitt for many events. Although the theatre is a little rundown, staff are always very friendly and welcoming. A nice small venue to see many different artists.
