“good for children”

Lots for children to do with a play area and animals. How it used to be with the village hall and houses one of them supposedly to be haunted. Oast house and not forgetting the llamas.

“Step back in time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2013

I love this place, it is like stepping back in time, events are well organized such as the Beer festival in the summer.

There is plenty for all ages from the animals and play area for the kiddies, the old buildings like the village hall and house are great factual historical visits.

Staff are very pleasant and appear to be very knowledgeable about their attraction and are more than willing to share their knowledge to make the trip enjoyable.

Well done Kent Life, a good day out for the old and young.

“boring overpriced kent life”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

7TH of july myself and 30 members of my family spent a few hours at the kentlife museum, they were all different age groups ranging from small children, teenagers , adults in their 20's and 30's right up to the oldest being 60, everybody was moaning that there was nothing to do and how boring it was and overpriced it was... could do with a bit of a makeover especially the play area for children.

I am sorry to read your review. With such a large group you should have received discounted group entry so please do contact us if that was not the case. I have checked the itinerary for that day and can confirm we offered animal feeding activities, guided tours of the heritage buildings, tractor rides and more as part of the offer. I am sorry if this was not what you had expected of your visit, please do contact us on enquiries@kentlife.org.uk if you have any suggestions for us, we are always looking to improve.

“Cider festival visit”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

As a family we have visited Kent life a few times in the past so when tickets for a cider festival appeared on Groupon i thought i could combine my interests with a day out for my daughter.

Very disappointed with the day, like others. Not a lot going on. Only one cider distributer and they run tasting days on their own farm in Kent. No apple book as advertised.

Overall not an "event" at all. Once my daughter had exhausted herself running around the playground we left

Thank you for your review. The Apple and Cider festival was a celebration of our produce, with over 70 varieties of apples on display, a chance to press fresh apple juice plus other activities across the site. For the first time we introduced cider to the offer and the interest took us by surprise- we apologise that this was not as extensive as you had hoped and can promise that we will deliver a far stronger cider offer in future years.

“Promise of a cider tent, we got a 3ft bench”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

OK, we bought cheap tickets via Groupon to go to the Cider and Apple festival, the blurb promised lots of apples, tasting and a cider tent, what we got was a single stall selling Kentish Cider, no tent! I didn't see any tasting. We were also promised an apple recipe book on entry, all we were given was a tiny slip of paper.

Yes they were cheap tickets and we didn't pay full price for entry thankfully; it would have been Zero out of five if we had to pay the full price.

We did have a wander around, the play park for our young kids was ok, yes the animals were easily accessible. Overall the whole place appeared slightly run down. Though we did visit at the end of the season.

We spent less than an hour in the place, as one of our party pointed out, we'd have been better off going to Cobtree Country Park just half a mile up the road, better play area and free!

We weren't the only people who felt let down.

Wished I could have given a local attraction a much better review.

Thank you for your review. The Apple and Cider festival was a celebration of our produce, with varieties of apples on display, a chance to press apple juice, two cider stalls plus other heritage, garden and animal activities across the site.
This has always been a small event on our calendar and we did not expect the high numbers on the day. We appreciate that this was our mistake and intend to deliver a much larger event in 2014, with our popular Hops n Harvest event as a good example of the direction we hope to take this,
