“area in front of Mote house”
Review of Mote Park

The front of mote house facing the park is a disgrace. The area around the display of the site map has old metal rusting posts and concrete slabs in the grass which look terrible and there is a waste bin that smells of dog excrement..The tarmac is worn out and is two types which look appalling and there are bare patches where grass should be. No wonder the park did not win the first spot in the recent "best park competition"! The park itself is a credit to the council and is worth visiting with children AND dogs!

Hi, thank you for your comments and I'm glad that you enjoy Mote Park. I'd like to reassure you about the area in front of Mote House. The posts and bins will be removed shortly, and with regard to the tarmac, we will be looking at this when the works to Mote House have finished - there are a lot of vehicle movements at the moment, so it wouldn't be financially prudent to replace the tarmac until that's finished. I hope that this didn't spoil your trip, and that you come back to visit Mote Park again soon!

So much open space for everyone to use. Outdoor gym equipment. A fantastic outdoor play area. A large lake for people to feed the ducks, use remote controlled boats on and ride pedalows and row boats. Lots of paths to walk on and history to observe. Events are often hosted on the fields here and the leisure centre is also on the doorstep.

Great for everyone of all ages and budgets for a nice afternoon.

Parking was a bit of a problem as it was very busy as its half term. There was a fair in the grounds which obviously attracted a lot of the children. A nice area to walk and have a picnic when the weathers fine .

We went today with 9 year old and 5 year old and our greyhound. This is a lovely big park with something for everyone. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the play area. We walked round the lake with ducks and swans to feed. There is a reasonably priced cafe. Golf and boating lake ( we didn't use so not sure of prices). A great place for the kids to let off steam.
