I've known Mote Park for many years as I used to live a few yards away for most of my childhood. I recently re-visited after a break and was amazed at the changes. There is now a purpose built footpath that goes around the circumference of the lake which has made it more user friendly for those with disabilities and also means that you don't have to walk through mud when the weather is not so dry. There are added facilities now of being able to hire boats/kayaks to go on the lake and the small steam railway is still operating at 30p per ride. Great fun for the kiddies. The pitch and put is still going strong and that must have been there 60 years ago! Also a fairly new play area and recently several high profile music events. Definitely worth a visit.
