Had a great breakfast here at the weekend!! They're always very busy so you have to pick your times to go, especially if there's more than four of you. The staff are attentive and sweet, perfect for this little quirky cafe. Had the bubble and poached eggs and husband had the brunch! Excellent and not your greasy spoon style fodder. Highly recommended.

Have heard lots about this cafe so decided to treat myself on sunday to a breakfast as I was passing by . The staff were friendly and polite but very busy . I decided to have poached eggs on bubble and squeak with roundwood orchard bacon and hollondaise . The eggs were very hard the bubble and squeak was watery and had no flavour and I find it very hard to believe I was eating roundwood orchard bacon as they are no longer trading ?? Also what is the point of tomato and cucumber with a horrible1980 s balsamic syrup on the side .lots of potential here so will maybe try again when its not so busy

Thank you for your review and comments. We are truly sorry that you found reason to complain and it causes us great upset that you were not happy with your experience.

We have only recently taken over the ownership of the café and are still working through some of the problems we inherited. It is with comments like yours that we can build on and improve our guest satisfaction. I would appreciate it if you could spare some time to email me at livingcafe@mail.com about your experience, where, I will endeavour to see if we can restore your faith with us.

We visit the Living Cafe Maidstone several times a week. It is a great cafe, with a lovely atmosphere. At the weekend, they have the B team serving. They don't pay attention to the order, spill the coffee when serving (and don't apologise), wait for the coffee to get cold before bringing the cakes and then don't include the special offer when adding up the bill. Shame, because it is a really nice place during the week.

The food served was all freshly cooked and although it took some time to be served it was worth the wait, disappointing that the toast was served when I'd nearly finished eating. The staff or maybe the owner were very noisy and somewhat spoilt the calm atmosphere. Some people maybe should think that not everyone wants to hear their conversation.
I wouldn't go again.

Never been here before but it's worth a visit, very friendly service, fresh cooked food in a nice atmosphere, the brownies were fab. Reasonable prices too. We will be back.
