“Blows away the cobwebs....”

A very pleasant couple of hours can be spent here walking around the lake, enjoying a picnic or visiting the peace pagoda, all of which only costs the parking fee. If you want more activities then there's water skiing, windsurfing, boat hire, a minature railway, adventure golf and a high ropes acitvity that looks positively scary! Usual food and drink outlets where you can sit by the lakeside and watch the world (and the skiers) go by. Four hours parking is only a couple of pounds, or a little more for all day. Good for children and us slightly more mature alike!

“Always very busy”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

The big lake in MK, there is water ski-ing (using a pull line) that's fun to watch, a brilliant playground for children, a small train journey (minature, cheap and fun) plus a decent walk to the Peace pagoda, which being Marble is great to sit on during a hot summers day.

bring the bikes, as there are miles of safe child friendly red-routes, a good route is past the train area to the river and see the swans. (You can rent bikes too)

Beware - there are hundreds of geese and swans at the lake, not harmful - but theres a hell of a lot of bird poo too. Swans don't like dogs - and will make a fuss, don't let the dog off the lead. It's not safe.

There is a restaurant there, always avoided as its very poor quality and avoided by us locals - bring a packed lunch and picnic.

Car parking is okay; but always full so be patient - people leave all the time.
One other thing - don't attempt to swim in the lake.

“Plenty to see here”

I like to bring my grandchildren here for picnics in the summer. There are often activities to watch on the lake. I love to walk all around the lake and then drop into the restaurant for a welcome meal and warm drink.

“Great for a short outing”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Largish lake - probably the biggest in MK? - walk/cycle path all the way around, probably 2 miles? Interesting walk, lots of waterfowl and some watersports. Great for kids to cycle around and adults to run or walk around. Waterside cafe is ok, could do with better service. People complain abut the bird mess everywhere, that is the problem, lots of birds, lots of people feeding the birds, that is what happens....
