Just returned from this Premier Inn, at Caldecotte Lake, after a weeks stay, a month ago i stayed for 2 weeks, i was lodging here during the Olympics with my job.
It is idealy situated for the railway stations at Milton Keynes and Bletchley, and the main road routes, M1, A5 etc. All are within a 5 min drive.
This Inn as a bit of character, it is built next to a windmill and overlooks Caldecotte Lake, it is in the perfect setting for relaxing.
The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, clean and warm.
The staff are great, there if you need any assistance or have any queries, everyone of them is helpful.
Meals are provided by the pub next door, the Caldecotte Arms.
The value for money is excellent, you can get 2 main meals for £10, and they're not small meals, they are plentiful, with loads of choices, nicely cooked and presented.
The staff are superb, they work their socks off, especially when the pub gets busy, they don't rest for a moment, they are constantly on the go, always giving great service with a smile, special mention goes to the manageress, Kev the barman and the young lad who waits on the tables, brings out the meals etc, they are a credit to the pub chain. Even when they were snowed under with orders, they cracked on with the job and your meal was in front of you within 20 mins, i can't knock that for service or commitment.
Breakfast was nice, great selection of juices, cereals, health stuff etc, and of course the full English. It was cooked the way i like it and you could have as many items as you like. The lady in attendance for breakfasts, Lorraine, was really great, very pleasant, and always happy and helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stays at this Inn, i will be returning again soon, the service, staff and accomodation is all first class, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Rooms 4, 5, 21 & 22 have a balcony that overlook the lake. I had 4 and 21 during my stays here, you can watch the sun rise over the lake, see the wildlife, geese, swans, ducks etc.

What an astounding setting for a hotel. Featuring a lake and a playpark, this was more than we'd bargained for. However, the food in Fayre & Square here was absolutely abysmal. Uncooked eggs and burnt burgers? Completely appalled.

Overall a pleasant stay at this premier inn. Room very clean and well maintained. We arrived late and was greet well by the night receptionist. Would recommend arriving early for breakfast and not leaving it too late. Our breakfast experience on the Saturday was great but we left it too late on the Sunday and they had just about ran out of everything and did not replace things til it had ran out and then only when people asked for more. Cooked breakfast not as good on the second day either. We ate in the restaurant on the sat night which was good value for money and very nice. Will visit again.

hotel is in nice location looking out over Caldecotte lake. Bedroom was a bit small for a family room especially as it was myself, my wife , our disabled daughter (who is wheelchair bound) and 16 month old son. pub attached is ok but dont expect to get served quickly.

Room Tip: ask for room overlokking the lake not the car park

Stayed one night and the hotel was fine. Everything you would expect from a Premier Inn and in a nice setting next to the lake. The breakfast was served at the Fayre & Square pub next door and was absolutely awful. Although served until 10am, when we arrived at 9.30 the breakfast was totally neglected and the staff were getting the pub ready to open. There were no croissants and a blueberry muffin was still frozen in the middle. There was no freah coffee (Costa Coffee is advertised) and so we were offered hot water and sachets of Kenco. When this was queried we were advised that they only made instant for breakfast anyway and just put it in the insulated jugs, Costa branded cups were evidently being used as there were no clean other ones. There were spoons on the bar but the staff said they were probably dirty and needed washing. No other spoons were available so I had to find some on one of the several vacated but uncleared tables. Vegetarian sausages seemed just microwaved hot and were an inedible mush. Bins were overflowing with cereal packs and other rubbish and the tea/coffee making area was a dirty disgrace covered in empty sachets, used tea bags and spilt milk etc. The girl behind the bar who we grudingly paid the £8.25 per head to did apologise but added that she was only doing as told by her Manager. The breakfast was a disgrace. I have complained to Premier Inn and am awaiting a reply.

Room Tip: Avoid the Fayre & Square!!
