“Certainly not Premier”
Reviewed August 14, 2011

Maybe you will disregard the building site of a car park and pay the required fee, or the funfair right next to the hotel, or the filthy restaurant with chips all over the floor. No worries, you are in for a cosy night at the Premier with a room above the kitchens and service ducts, with no air conditioning and a stupid £9.99 fan on the desk. Open the french door if you prefer the smell of cooking oil to the unbearable heat. You will wake up dehydrated and promptly march to reception for the promised refund for not having a good night's sleep. "Oh yes, our rooms are known to be a little hot." Refund secured this is the best Premier for a free night out. Never again.

My first stay at a Premier Inn. I found it surprisingly good and was impressed by the staff's friendly, positive attitude from the moment I arrived at Reception. My room was very clean, a good size, and had a balcony overlooking a large lake. The bed was especially comfortable. Only downside was that it was on the first floor and a lift would have been useful as I had two heavy suitcases and had to haul them upstairs. The cooked breakfast (approx. £8) was served efficiently and I could have had as much as I wanted. The quality of the bacon could have been improved, however. Everything else was absolutely fine. For the price, the hotel met my needs in every respect and I would certainly recommend it over (for example) Travelodge.

We arrived at this Premier Inn and found that a very noisy fun fair had pitched up very close. The room we were allocated was next to the car park near to where the fair was sited and the Receptionist on duty kindly moved us to a room further away. We were informed that the fair closed at 10.00pm.

I think the fun fair is on site until mid-August.

The room was a good size, clean and tidy and had a balcony which overlooked the lake - a fantastic site! We were a little bit worried, having previously read on TA about the noisy birds, but they were no bother at all.

We had a meal in the busy pub attached to the 'Inn' and retired to our room to sit on the balcony. Unfortunately the room was positioned directly above the outside seating area for the pub - from what we could see, all the rooms facing the lake are in this position. A few minutes after sitting down, cigarette smoke began wafting upwards, which, as non-smokers did not go down well and then the bad language started. It amazes me why people who use bad language have to shout!

Sadly, the fantastic scene of the lake was spoilt.

On the upside, we had our cup of tea in the morning watching the heron, swans, ducks, etc., arrive back onto the lake.

Room Tip: The view of the lake is fantastic

Good hotel&staff. 3 Warnings pay parking-I don't like this outside cities. Bluebadge holder free and don't need zero rate tax disc -but check!
2 there was fairground on the doorstep but didn't hear it.
3 disabled room in annex dont like
If these worry try other premier inns in mk.

We have just returned for a 2 day stay in this hotel, convenient location for the CLA Game fair at Blenheim Palace. The Hotel was fine, we had a room which overlooked the lake, all clean and fine for our short stay. We recieved a nice welcome when we arrived, the car park ticket machine conned us! but the receptionist was pleasant and helpful. As another review said, there was a travelling fair ground close by but this closed at 9:30pm so no problems.
The negative bit is the attached pub part. This is not owned or run by Premier Inn so should not reflect on the Hotel, but the standard of the place is not what you would call good. The food quality was not bad but the wait to order food was poor. Sometimes just one poor guy talking drink and food orders was not good. The cleanliness of the dining areas and the outside patio area was at times disgusting with food all around the floor areas. I know a lot of this is down to the people who allow this to happen, but there seems to be a total lack of staff in the area. Even if you dont want to order food you still have to wait in the queue for a beer or whatever your favourite tipple is. The chances of you getting worse for wear in the bar is nil !!
Maybe we just caught this at a wrong time due to a nice warm day when the staff had been run off their feet with customers ???

Room Tip: Try and get a room overlooking the lake with a balcony. The Geese Swans & Ducks on the lake dont...

We have just stayed at this Premier Inn for our trip to Woburn Abbey and Safari Park- which was a 15-20 minute drive from the hotel.
On arrival, the location of the Inn was beautiful, right on the bank of the lake with a lovely view.
On checking in, we were allocated Room 28 which was in the annex, and on the ground floor next to the car park...with a balcony covering the window...making it feel like a claustrophobic dungeon room!!! Also, there was a travelling fair on the field next door, and the generator for the bouncy castle was whirring away right next to the window. However, a polite request for a change of room- resulted in the very friendly and helpful Receptionist, changing us to Room 34 which again was in the Annex, but on the first floor, overlooking the lake, with a little balcony!!...Much more like it - Thankyou!!!!
The room was bright, fresh and clean- with the usual tea/coffee making facilities (asked for replenished supplies- and was given a great handful, again by the very friendly Receptionist).
We did eat at the attached pub/restaurant in the evening...and do agree with previous negative comments, that it did look a little grubby round the edges, and staff were few and far between. But it wasnt too busy and we were served relatively quickly and only waited about 10-15 mins for our food. The bar however, ran out of large wine glasses...and Gin (on a Friday night!!!!!!). Our meals were good value, cooked well and hot- although I did have to go and search for some sauce sachets- which werent offered to us!!
Breakfast in the morning was fine- we both had the continental at £5.25 each- and were offered porridge, which we had- it was cooked to order and absolutely lovely.
Parking cost us £4.00 for 24 hours.
In all, our stay here was fine for our 2 days at Woburn- it wasnt the best Premier Inn we have stayed in, but for £54.00- im not complaining!

Room Tip: Request a first floor- Annex room overlooking the lake.

I needed to be in milton keynes on business this week and had always stayed at premier inn's previously, by comparison this particular premierinn is a very poor second if not third to the other premier inn's I have stayed in previously. Not only do you have to pay £4 to park overnight (not detailed when booking) but the bar/restaurant is a disgrace the food is passable, but service is very poor indeed at both the bar and when ordering food, on top of that the whole bar/restaurant standard of cleanlyness both inside and out leaves alot to be desired.

The rooms are ok but the rest of what you get is very poor and certainly not up to the standards I have come to expect from Premierinn, the best thing they could do is close this one down and concentrate on the others in the area.

Room Tip: The romm are ok the rest is very poor
