This is a really exciting experience and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though it took nearly 3 hours of driving for a few minutes of actual skydiving - we still loved the day! And so did the family that we shared our session with. A mother and father and three young (4-6 yr old) kids. The kids were amazing!
It's a credit to the experience itself, the facilities and the wonderful staff who are very friendly, caring and knowledgeable.
My only gripe is the cost. The base package is expensive. About £10 per minute of skydiving. So it's right up the scale in terms of costly hobbies, and most people would only ever do this one or twice in their lives because of that. Which is a shame as we enjoyed it so much, and there is a long learning curve that could be taken up. But the venue was very popular so I guess they don't need to worry about that.
And then, once you've paid all this money - they want more! An extra £5 to do this spinning thing with the instructor who takes you up and down the length of the tube very quickly. Super exciting, definitely something to 'add on' but after spending so much money with them, couldn't they just throw this in? Again... people will pay it due to the 'once in a lifetime' aspect. So, they don't worry about it, and we pay it.
Finally, the pictures are their usual pricey self. But any one who has been to an amusement park will know the price of pictures! £10 a pop. We got fridge magnets at £5.
Though, be aware, they do email you a link to all the pictures. So if you don't mind "proof" and the "airkix" name over the photo, then wait until you're home. Reminds me of all my old school photos...
