I went here with my wife for the 1st time on Sunday 3rd Feb. it was a Xmas present, we had Gary as an instructor. The facilities, pre flight & flight were superb. What a great day out. We'll definitely be going back now I've got the bug.

“Flying high up in the sky”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

A post Xmas family experience. What a dump Milton Keynes is on a grey day at the end of December, but don't let this put you off the experience, which is akin to going on a flight. You have to go through all the dross to get to the other side. The flying experience is limited to two one minute goes in the chamber. If you want to go up on the second go that is extra, plus there is all the photos and videos to record your experience, a bit like the wet and wild rides. The tuition and flight attendants are good at what they do, and you do feel safe in their hands, although my brother in law got too close to the edge and fell out of the slip stream. He was fine. The pictures are a great advert for the benefits of liposuction to the older generation. Overall fine, just a shame about MK

After viewing a training video in which you are instructed in sign language as you won't be able to hear anything in the wind tunnel, we tried to simulate being in the wind tunnel on a table. Imagine, flat on your tummy, arms and legs spread and you are trying to push your legs down whilst the instructor pushes them up. This gave a clear idea of how hard being in the wind tunnel was going to be. You are given overalls, ear plugs, goggles and a helmet and then you walk to the viewing platform where the viewing gallery is and where you will do your flight. Our instructor Steve O had been very clear with all his instructions and all members of our group did really well. It was quite hard work, only a minute at a time but that was plenty. You can pay extra to go high up in the wind tunnel with the instructor (£5 which I think was worth it) and you can also purchase extra flying time for £11. Our flight was booked for 2pm, we were instructed to arrive around 1.15pm. Instructions started around 1.30pm and we all finished our flights by 2.45pm.
Overall, a great experience. We also received a DVD with all the flyers in the group, including the amazing show that our instructor did at the end of the session. He was just like Superman!
You then get an email with links to pics taken during your flights, more would have been more fun to look at (hubby only had 2 taken of him) and you can purchase them or upload to your facebook account for free. Great!
Try it!

Nearly forgot - there are lockers to put your valuables in - they cost £1 each and the locker keeps your £1. So not free which was really the only negative comment I have.

“A must do, one off experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

We visited During the week of new year & our 3 kids returning back to school. Not a cheap activity, i paid £179 for upto a family of five to use up 10mins, as we travelled from norfolk my kids wanted to get the most out of the experience & felt 2 x 1m goes was not enough, so we paid for extra's £11 for extra 1min flying time & £5 for instructor to take them to top of tunnel (a must as it makes the experience). This is an 1hr activity purely bcos you have to sit in a safety chat and get suited up, this feels a bit like a distraction from the fact that you dont actually spend long doing what you'v paid to do, indoor skydive!

The Instructor JD was friendly & had a sense of humour, but do think he may have lost the ability to recognise that to beginners, young & old, this cld be a pretty scary experience, as you have absoulutely no idea what to expect, so huge nerves are at play!

I do appreciate the wind tunnel can be a dangerous place if u dont know what yr doing, but i do feel our group, a mixture of kids 12 up, teens & adults were on edge, in case they did something wrong ie; my 17 yr olds helmet came off whilst he was in tunnel, jd was furious and said very loudly "thats why u dont mess with yr equipment, once iv checked it" my son had not removed his helmet once it had been checked! he was already embarrised enough that his helmet had come off, jd's comments made everyone winch, i was deffinately on edge afterwards.

I ordered a dvd of my families experience (thoroughly recommend) however, i was really disappointed to find any flights prior to my sons helmet coming off (incl this flight) were not included on dvd, clearly Airkix didnt want us to have footage of something going wrong, luckily my Husband who did not participate recorded the whole thing, we were not cross about helmet coming off, no one was hurt & these things happen, we wanted footage cos its funny to watch, Airkix need to relax!

This is a fun activity, but plse be aware, the safety talk does not prepare you for just how tricky this activity is, it is not easy! You our not made aware that there is a screen in the tunnel that can give you instructions (as you cant hear anything) and i dont think you are prepared for how much you will rely on the very competent instructor whilst in the tunnel because its not easy! My children 12-17 yrs were esp surprised at just how difficult it was, they thought it wld be easy, a bit of wind you cant possible fail to fly unaided like a bird, how wrong they were!

This is a fun experience, i am so plsed i did it, my kids wld love to go back, i, on the other hand feel it was a 'one of experience' that wldnt be as much fun second time round.

“Fantastic Experience”
Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

We booked this as a gift experience day out and loved it. We arrived early to book in as advised and had a look round at facility which included lots of cafes, restaurants, indoor snow ski slope and much more.

The staff are great, very helpful and friendly. After watching the safety video we kitted up in flight suits and helmets before venturing in to the wind tunnel area. The staff member assigned to your group then takes you through for your first flight experience.

Always felt really comfortable and guided throughout for body position. Before your second flight your asked if you eat to go with the instructor up to the very top. Do it!!! It's a phenomenal feeling.

We also had the DVD included in the gift experience and would recommend to anyone to take one home. Great fun watching it back.

Will go again!
