Dinner at the Hilton is less than adequate for the normal Hilton standards. Have had better direct from a fast food outlet.Waiting staff are friendly but have a habit of shouting at customers and colleagues from a distant. Little finesse. Shame but wont be returning.
Oh yes area looks like a building site with major works going on all around the Hotel.Building superstores and carparks.

Hi

Thank you for your honest review.

Our venue and area is currently undergoing a very exciting transition. We are in the process of developing a fantastic new retail complex, bar/restaurant and cinema concept and will also include an Arena: opening the doors to concerts, exhibitions and major events.

With regards to your comment of the fitness facilities. We do in fact have our own onsite fitness suite on the lower ground floor of the hotel, open to residents only, which are not shared with the fitness centre over the road from us. Our reception team are available at any time to provide access for guests.

I am sorry that you had a negative experience in the restaurant and have raised this with our restaurant manager. I hope that the above explanation and perhaps an enticing Doubletree cookie might give us another opportunity to wow you on your next visit!

Thank you

Stayed here after our cruise as somewhere close to visit Bletchley Park. It is built onto the front of MK Dons stadium so I thought it was quirky to book a pitch view room. The room was very nice and great value at £72 BB for a double room. We watched the football in the bar and had the biggest burger ever, really nice as was the breakfast choice. Great service and lovely room, slept like a baby in the giant bed.

Room Tip: Pitch view is quirky and better than a view of the car park.

Hi

Thanks for your great review. We are ideally situated for a trip to Bletchley Park, so I am glad you had the opportunity to visit.

Our DoubleTree Burgers are rather legendary and it sounds as if it was just what the doctor ordered after returning home from a long journey and cruise!

Hopefully you will be able to visit us again soon
Thanks

We haved stayed in many Hilton hotels in the UK, but for the price, this one takes some beating because of the quality of the room, the friendly service and excellent breakfast. Arrived very late due to traffic problem but check in was easy and the room was spacious and spotlessly clean with comfortable bed and all the necessary complementary extras. Woke up to find our room looked straight out over the MK Dons Arena - Wow! Good choice of tasty breakfast food and excellent service all round. Only sorry we were staying for just the one night, but we will definitely return when next in the area.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the arena is impressive.

I recently attended an event at the MK Dons stadium. As this hotel is actually PART of the stadium, after looking at the prices for nearby hotels and weighing up the options, I decided to give it a go and booked to stay here.
Upon arrival about 1pm, we were told there was no option to check in early, but could leave out bags in a room near reception while we attended the event in the stadium. When we tried again to check in after 3pm, we were seen too with no problems and even given a welcome cookie (Something regular hilton hotels have never offered me!).

Rooms are easy enough to find via 3 lifts (One big, and two smaller ones) or a stairwell, although there are a lot of stairs to climb if you choose that option.
The rooms themselves are VERY spacious which surprised me and even had a fridge which ive never seen in a hotel room before! The beds (twin room) were large and comfortable, and the bathroom was probably the biggest and nicest bathroom ive been in! On these points, the hotel is excellent and no complaints!

However, not all is totally well.
For starters, I had booked a twin executive room, however was told I did not get executive lounge access as I had only booked on the 'best rate' price level and therefor had not paid enough. I have never been told that elsewhere.
The room was also a 'twin executive room with a view' of the football pitch. Despite the whole side of the room being windowed/glass to view the football pitch, the double doors were locked the whole weekend, and as these were the windows also, they did not open at all so I couldnt let any fresh air into the room. A notice stuck to the window said the doors were only unlocked on match days (which there wasnt a match that weekend), but even then, the doors and curtains would have to remain closed at all times during a match. Sort of makes me think the whole point of a room with a view is a bit pointless if all its going to be there for is a see through wall.

Theres are a few shops and eateries on site and within a few mins walk, however the hotel is quite far from the center of Milton Keynes, so if you want to to anything in particular in the evening then its a £8 taxi ride each way into the center.

Overall, am happy with the hotel though, and have booked again for a stay next year.

Room Tip: Book a room with a view if you want a view of the football pitch, otherwise you have a view of outsi...

Hi

Thank you for your review. It seems you had a fantastic experience at check in and enjoyed our fabulous DoubleTree cookie on arrival too!

With regards to the confusion around the Executive room, I have highlighted this with our reservations team to iron out the terminology used. We have only recently opened our Executive Lounge and are just developing strategy behind it.

I appreciate the comments made regarding the doors in your room. However, due to health and safety restrictions we cannot allow access outside of a football game into the football spectator grounds. Many of our executive pitch facing rooms are in fact converted on a match day to hospitality boxes.

Thank you for making another booking with us and we look forward to welcoming you back next year!

This hotel is newly built as part of the MK Football stadium and offers all the facilities that you would expect of a genuine 4 Star Hilton Hotel. Now not all Hilton's are as equal as the brand would lead you to expect, quite honestly in the UK Hilton have some pretty ropey old shacks in their portfolio, you know the ones, you've probably stayed at one or two, but I can assure you this hotel totally lives up to expectations, especially for the price we paid £65 + £10 each for an excellent breakfast. (Sunday night mind you) and free parking to boot (good pun eh?)

The lobby is welcoming, the room that we were given (315) was superbly appointed, all quite new, tastefully decorated, a very comfortable pillow-top bed, modern Sony LCD TV and well designed desk/working facilities, panoramic views of the stadium through the large french windows, free WI-FI system, very nice coffee station with granite work-top, a modern marble/limestone tiled bathroom with (shock horror) a towell radiator! Yes warm towels - great! The facilities are what you expect for a top notch for  4-Star hotel.

Now, no review from me would ever be complete without picking a hole or two, but I had to work hard on this one!
1. The wife did not like the fact that there was no Alpen at breakfast, just the usual Corn Flakes and the like (actually I prefer Dorset Cereals products myself)
2. There was some staining in the corners of the bath where the tiles meet the bath, this was unfortunate given the high standard of clenliness in the rest of the room and bathroom.
3. Although there was the both of us, we were only offered one room key, but this was rectified when we asked after this key stopped working.

So in summary, a great hotel great facilities, recommended. But I bet it gets busy when there's a match on!

Hi

Great to read such a unique review of our hotel. Thank you for your honesty regarding our venue and I am glad to read that you had such a positive experience with us at the DoubleTree. Our brand is very new still in the UK and we are just spreading our wings into the UK market, so I am sure you will be able to enjoy staying at a few other of our sister properties soon too.

We do normally stock both Alpen muesli and Granola at breakfast, so I will make sure our restaurant manager is aware that this was missed off. The maintenance team have also noted your room number and wil check the bathroom. With regards to the room key, it is standard that we provide one, however, we are always more than happy to cut another for your next stay.

Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
