We will normally enjoy Jalori's fine cuisine once a week via there takeaway service which is a compliment to their chef's as they are consistently good, although we treat ourselves with a trip to the restaurant as often as we can.
We are always warmly welcomed and admittedly we now have our favourite table in the restaurant which is reserved for us when we book in advance - the staff are very friendly and hospitable - the food is fantastic....fragrant, spiced accordingly and we regularly try other options from their menu.
If we are looking to entertain friends then we always impress them with a visit to Jalori and we look forward to many more meals in this lovely restaurant.

The Good:
*The atmosphere was great. It was a Saturday night & seemed a very popular place to go
*The food was lovely. Poppadums were average but with an extra pickle to normal...bonus! I had Garlic Chicken Bhuna which was very tasty & plenty of it. Partner had Madras which was as hot as it promised! We shared an onion rice which was plentiful & delicious plus a Keema Naan which again was very good
*Linen Napkins is a tick! Pet hate of mine is paper napkins so added to the fresh carnation on the table meant the decor was spot on

The Bad.
*Onion Bahji's were a let down (although this can be down to personal taste)
*It is a little cosy in there with my partners chair being rammed by the trolley at times

The Ugly.
*The service. Terrible from start to finish. People were milling around in the doorway & weren't being acknowledged or seen to quickly enough & no-one knew who was take-away & who was waiting for tables. When shown to the table our napkins were left on our place & our waiter ran off before we had even sat down. Someone then came over a few minutes later & said "have you ordered drinks" There was no drinks menu or wine list given to us. Then someone else came over & said "how many Poppadums do you want" - Then we waited 25-30mins before someone took our order. No explanation or apology and although it was busy I do feel this is too long. It was like we were forgotten. We then had our dishes cleared as we finished them even though we were still eating. All in all it felt like they couldn't cope with the numbers, they were did-organised (we dealt with 5 waiters) & didn't know basic restaurant etiquette. They were also quite sullen rather than welcoming and friendly

Taking all that into account would we go back? Yes!

While the service needs improving. The food was lovely & they were very busy so would give them the benefit of the doubt

best service, great food, owner top class person ensures great service. the vegetarian dishes and starters are among the best I have ever tasted, main course have real asian flavours which I have only ever tasted in india and malaya. The service is polite and friendly and not subservient as in some places I visit.
