Working in Chineham and this being the closest pub: I visit here about once in every 6 months. (which says something as i visit a at least pub once in every working week) After every visit my opinion goes down more and more.
1) this pub is rediciously expensive £10 for a burger £7.50 for a sandwhich and about £3.7 to £4.20 for a pint of normal beer.
2) this pub is always busy due to its excellent location. (10 minute walk from the chineham business park.) the busyness is not a problem but the monopoly they have and prices they charge make you feel like you are being ripped of for the sake of it.
3) They now dont have sky sports "because they cant afford it" this is absurd you pay over the top and cant even enjoy the cricket at lunch times. (their previous only positive)
4) the food is good quality is what you would expect. however it never gives you any feeling of value.
5) service - well to be honest the staff couldnt really care less. unfriendly and appear as if they would rather not be there.
6) atmosphere is mostly people dressed in suits

Basically this pub is a monopoly of the area and does nothing but abuse the customer through location, lack of value and sevice.

TO recitify the pub needs to introduce some value and "deals" to their food and drinks. they need to get sky sports as a priority.

I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. It has been a while since I last ate here and it was certainly nothing to write home about then. However, the menu has since been overhauled and is far more appealing. I only had a sandwich when I went, but it was very tasty and very good quality. I will be returning to test out other options.

I came here with friends for lunch and it was great service and great priced food. The menu is split into two parts lunch and dinner and has a nice small plate menu which can be eaten while enjoying drinks with friends if you don't want a main meal. Beer is fuller's so always nice. The manager is also most gay and entertaining! All round a great local pub. Go visit!

I went to the Chineham arms with my mother for lunch today , i was shocked by the menu not a great menu to start with but could not get over the prices 11 pounds for nachos !!!!!! 7 pounds for a sandwich not a door stop sandwich, an ordinary sandwich with a few chips on the side , the food wasn't that great anyway a rather bland cajun chicken ciabatta at 13 pounds a snip. A pint of Peroni 4.20 , i do not mind spending money on boozy lunches its one of my favorite pastimes but i do not like being ripped offed and this was a complete rip off , i do not know what sort of clientale the managers are trying to attract but i would rather spend money in a proper restaurant at these prices rather than a pub meal.
