About a year ago I wrote my first review praising this place. One year on and it's a different story ,this place is diabolical, the service was crap as was the food. It is like a cheap cafe not a restraunt the waiters shirt looked like he had slept in it and the decor is grubby. We complained that the food was poor, no one interested, take my advice and do not eat here and warn all of your friends not to waste their money.

Ive been here many times but I went tonight for a girly get together and apart from a noisy large table it was as good as always. As the reviews state it is tucked away near a car park but it is by far the best Chinese (except maybe for Hees) in town. The food is always tasty and hot, the staff are friendly and keep on top of everything. It is a fairly small restaurant and it is always busy so you should book. On a Sunday they have an all you can eat menu for about £16 I think it is.
Tonight we had as I normally do, a mixed menu of two set menus between 6. They do an amazing non greasy and thick sesame prawn toast! We had two set menus between us of prawn crackers, prawn toast, chicken satay, spring rolls and seaweed to start, then we had crispy duck and lamb with pancakes, then sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce, sizzling beef, a chicken dish, mixed veg, special and egg fried rice and finished with apple and banana fritters. All 6 of us had a soft drink and it came to about £24 each with tip included. Hiro does all the bookings and sometimes they have special events there when Hiro sings or others come in and sing.
If you like your chinese all you can eat buffet and are fed up with mass produced food under a heat lamp then book to go here on a Sunday when it is all cooked to order.
If its a special occasion let them know, they will have confetti and balloons on the table ready. If you bring a cake they will light it and bring it out when you want or if you have no cake they will stick a candle in small slice of cake just for you.

Good food and service at a fair price. Consistently delivers on flavours and colours of food. So popular that sometimes it is difficult to get a table. Recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

This is no Chinese take-away! It is a discreet, nicely decorated restaurant in Basingstoke town centre. Car parks are available all around. There is a good variety of food and even fixed menus at good prices. The food is very well prepared, with recipes from different parts of China, and very tasty and flavoursome. It is not too heavy, too salty or too spicy either. Even the in-laws loved it! I've been there twice, and loved it both times. Lovely atmosphere as well. Mind you, it can get busy, so better to book a table. It is also reasonable priced for the eating experience it offers.
