Description: Welcome to the Toby Carvery Basingstoke. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings - including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Basingstoke's favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including cooked breakfasts and tasty specials.

“great sunday lunch”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

had a wonderful Sunday roast with pudding for family of 8. staff had to put 3 tables together to accommodate us and this was done very quickly. we arrived at approx 12:10 and in my opinion any later would have been dodgy getting to eat all at the same table. served very quickly even though it was busy and drinks arrived soon after ordering. there was a bit of a queue but not that much of a problem. choice of 3 meats, ( gammon, turkey and beef), and lots of veggies. but what really made it 10/10 were the roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a decent gravy. if you want to avoid busier times I recommend either mid afternoon or midweek.

“Good Value Cavery”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We went here for a family Sunday carvery. The food quality was good, with a selection of 4 meats and loads of different vegetable dishes which were all nice and fresh. There was a whole bowl of crackling to go with the roast pork, which so often is missing from other carveries. The selection of sauces and different gravies was also good (including a vegetarian gravy). The service was good and the staff were friendly. For £9.50 (or £11.00 for the large plate) it was excellent value for money. Yes it is a bit like "queuing for school dinners" when busy, but it is only busy for a reason.... The sweets were also good value and overall, for the money, it cannot be faulted.

“Quick family evening meal.”
Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

Staff are friendly, the meat was delightful. The veg is variable depending on how long it has been on the hot plate. The ice cream sundaes were nice and cold on the warm evening. I had a salad which wasn't bad at all though it would have benefitted from a little more leaf variety.

“Like queuing for your school dinner”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Carvery at its worst. It's like queuing for school dinner and the quality is poor; mushy vegetables, overcooked meat and terrible roast potatoes. The tables are dirty and staff hard to find. This is such a great building it could be something special but definitely not a Toby!!

“Great value”

Can't fault the food or price at all.
Gets very busy but not a problem if your prepared to wait for a table.
Will definitely go again.
