“Found a gem in Basingstoke”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

We came across this gem of a restaurant by accident last night after late shopping in Festival Place. Didn't know where to eat and wanted to avoid the overpriced chains by the Cinema. The board outside was advertising "Early bird" menus - 2 course for £13.95. It didn't look much from the outside or inside to be honest but we thought for that price it doesn't really matter. We were a little late for the early bird menu by about 15 mins, however they were kind enough to allow us to go for it. The food was fantastically fresh and not overcooked. The veg were just as I like, had a bit of crunch and the food was full of flavour but not too spicy. I had the vegetable tempura starter and tofu & cashew nut mains, all of it better than I expected and the service was excellent. Will definitely go back again.

“Very Disappointed...”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Checked a couple of days ago availability for lunch... arrived and looking forward to celebrating a birthday... Could not accommodate us even though the restaurant was empty...

This is NOT the way to do business...

I am a bit puzzled by this review. I am not aware of anyone being turned away at lunch time. Nor is there any reason for them to be as the restaurant is not generally busy at lunch times - unlike in the evening. We are open from 12 - 2.30 at lunch time Tuesday to Saturday.

“Excellent meal with work colleagues”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Went for dinner with work colleagues, we were served very well and staff were really attentive to ensure we're enjoying the meal. Excellent starters and main courses. Would visit again. It a little expensive compared to the others in the area but I guess that's counted towards the quality of food. The space is a bit tight and old but well decorated.

“Nice Tai Experience”
Reviewed January 14, 2014 via mobile

I love the experience of the girls dressed up in tai outfits, the flowers are lovely the food looks pretty with craved vegetables to make the plate look pretty.
I think slightly overpriced & would love to see a kids menu with plan food on it so I can bring my kids.
Downstairs could befit from a nice blind at the window as shopper's walking pass look in at you eating - upstairs is nice tho!
We had tea after & had ants in the sugar bowl...was abit gutted as having lovely time, the waitress was very sorry & gave us a free bottle of wine. Has not put us off as we have been back :0) (btw had no more ants, the is little lids on sugar bowls now)
