“Lovely food, Great atmosphere”
Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

We went for lunch on Christmas Eve, and although we hadn't booked, and it was very busy, we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table.

The food was lovely, best sandwich I have ever had! And the atmosphere is great, lots of people talking and enjoying themselves!

I don't know if it's always as busy, or whether it's just because it was Christmas eve, but it was good value for the price.

The only thing I will say is that it is PUB FOOD.. Do not go and expect anything fancy as you will be disappointed. There is plenty to choose from, but they are dishes you would expect to find in a pub such as fish and chips, lasagne, burgers, sandwiches etc.

Reviewed December 24, 2012

Went last sunday with my wife expecting something a bit different (looking at menu before we went) ,the restaurant and staff were excellant .The restaurant wasnt that busy so we had a drink before our meal ,all was going well until the food arrived it was your regular 2 for 10 standard we were so surprised as the food is quite expensive ,we didnt complain we just cross them off our list .we dont like causing a fuss also i think £3.30 is over the top for a pint of lager.Oh well back to looking for a pub/restaurant in the bolton area

“Pleasant lunch”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Had a good midday meal here for a family of 5 this week. Clearly it was busy as in the Christmas rush but all went well. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and all nice and hot with everyone satisfied with their choice.
Deserts are to die for here.
Will go again when in the area.

“Gerry Mc "Just Fish & Chips"”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

The Tavern without a doubt serves some of the finest fish & chips, well chips are chips albeit the day of the visit the tavern was busting at the seams and the chips not the very best Ive had but very close. The fish as always cooked to a turn and as fresh as a daisy, with flaky white flesh and very light batter. The peas reminded me of (pardon me my long gone Mothers).
Service was swift and attentive the duty manager as welcoming as usual even though he was busy had time for a short chat.
