Stayed here while working nearby. Reception staff are keen to help you, no matter what the problem is. Very nice food in the Beehive pub next door with a 2for1 deal on all the time. Close to the Reebok Stadium so would be perfect if you are going to a match. There is a Tesco 24h 5 mins walk down the road as well as a retail park.

If you want a really comfortable bed and a quite room, this is great. Breakfast was fine the following morning in the adjoining pub. Wi-Fi also useful although only free for 30mins - still £3.00 for 24 hour access is not too bad.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back might be quieter than those at the front which are nearer the main road

Hubby and I stayed in a family room with our four year whilst visiting friends. We were given the room right next to the entrance. We did not get to sleep until 04.30 due to large groups of drank people returning from the stone roses gig in manchester! They stood outside the entrance where an ash box had been conviently placed, shouting, swearing, their car stereos blaring, we even heard one person puking. Apparently some weren't even guests. The guy on reception worked very hard to move each group on, we thank him sincerely, but they were quickly replaced by another group. We had no idea a concert in another city would ruin our stay but if and when the hotel realised what guests were staying there they should have tried to move our room. Fancy putting a four year old in a bed by a window listening to that all night. I'm just glad we got our money back without a fight. Now off to catch up on the sleep I missed!

Room Tip: Don't have room 2 right by the entrance where people smoke.

One night stay whilst visiting elderly relatives locally. Reception very friendly and efficient, no big sales pitch for breakfast once she realised our circumstances - I find it really irritating when people stick to their script regardless. Room was on first floor overlooking the main road, but remarkably quiet for a Friday night! We overslept, indeed. Room clean, bed super comfy, and all for a very good price. Only minor criticism is that the electric sockets were mounted a fraction too close to the work surface ... Made plugging my hair dryer in a bit of a fiddle. But other than that ... Will def stay here again, especially to take advantage of their £29 room offer! Handy for the Middlebrook shopping centre, more retail outlets than you know what to do with!
