Due to the probable upcoming closure of the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre, i couldn't resist a return visit to see Fred's workshops and machines, whilst being regaled of tales by Alf (also known as Elf - by Fred himself).
What Leon and the other volunteers have managed to recreate and preserve is incredible, its just a shame that it may come to end soon.
To cap off the trip, i was lucky enough to be able to book a stay in Fred's house.
If you're looking for a modern hotel, then this certainly isn't for you, but if you're looking for that one-in-a-million special place oozing character, then this could very well be the place for you. An evening chatting to Leon, eating at Fred's kitchen table - in his chair, followed by coffee in the morning in Fred's yard.
There really is no place better!
Thank you Leon, for a very special weekend away.
DID YOU LIKE THAT? BY EK I DID!!!

Such a fascinating place to visit with a remarkable story as to how the home of Fred Dibnah became a heritage centre. But unless a buyer comes forward to carry on it will cease to be and that would be a tragedy and travesty. I am trying to be happy that this has even been possible and not sad that it may end. Even if you're not remotely interested in Fred or engines, you will not fail to to enjoy. A unique peace of history which deserves to be saved.
