I went recently with a group of 12 others from work for lunch.
We should have known there would be trouble when we rang to pre-order our meals as being at work that afternoon meant we had a tight timescale to stick to. 'You could have given us a bit more notice' was the comment when we rang, it was 10.30am and we weren't arriving until 12.30-12.40pm, we also asked that the food be ready for when we arrived.
We arrived, the food wasn't ready: you have to pay first was the response, not something we were told when the telephone call was made.
All the payment was made and the food ordered (again), then we sat back to wait...not expecting with would be nearly 1.30pm before out starters arrived! It was fairly obvious that some of the starters had been left sat waiting in the kitchen whilst the others were finished being prepared. Some starters were cold, comments such as stale bread etc were made and they managed to leave 1 starter behind and ther person had to go to the bar to ask for it, when the starter (Soup) arrived it was cold.
Another wait before the main courses arrived, during this period the plates etc from the starters were not removed. Although the size of the mains were good the quality was poor and where people had the same dish there were differences to the dish presented. For example 2 people had a chicken and bacon salad with dressing. One came swimming in dressing the other with hardly any at all. Two people ordered steak, one medium and the other medium rare and received identically cooked steaks which were well done.
There could be a slight chance that this was a one off however the general opinion of our group was that it is probably like that all the time.
Shambolic is an apt description, having pre ordered (or so we thought) our food to try and save time it was 2.20pm before we had finished our mains.
Needless to say we will not be returning!
