It was with some trepidation when we arrived at the hotel as to what to expect. We had booked this amazing deal for two nights which included breakfasts, dinners & free bottles of wine. Surely there had to be a catch !!! WRONG. It was a lovely week-end. Rooms clean, comfortable & warm, (which was lovely as we had just driven up from the Midlands in a blizzard), staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. Thank you Bolton xx

The hotel is a a bit rough around the edges from the outside, but nothing that a new coat of paint would not fix. The inside is kept very smart and tidy throughout. Rooms very good, Bathroom and shower were great, nice little touches in the bathroom and bedroom.
Stayed the one night on a dinner, bed and Breakfast deal with wine, superb value for money, food was very good, and bar prices for a hotel were very competative.
Staff helpfull and friendly, would stay here again even for the normal price when Im up in the north again for another football match.

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to write a review .
My staff and I are delighted that you very happy with your stay.
We do try to continually keep the property updated .
However as you are aware the hotel is open to the elements and they are not always kind to buildings.
I look forward to meeting you on your next visit

We booked the special DB&B with bottle of wine as a birhday celebration with friends and had a fabulous time. The hotel was very busy, but there was a great atmosphere, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff (excellent Restaurant Manager). Plenty of choice of food, beautifully cooked (and I am fussy!) and as much/little as you wanted. The rooms were immaculate, the cleanest I have ever seen, and with independent heating controls in the rooms no worries about being too hot or cold.
Great way to celebrate - fantastic value - thanks Britannia.

Just back from the Britannian Hotel Bolton as part of a Glentons Tour, food (buffet style) was excellent with a reasonable choice, served by a Chef come comedian. Staff friendly and helpful,as part of the tour we had lunch in The Prince Of Wales Hotel in Southport, again carvery style also exellent, only minor gripe with the Britannia was in the twin rooms lack of drawer space although plenty of shelf space. All in all another good break in Bolton.

We booked this hotel on a bit of a whim when looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We found the Britannia Hotel was doing a £38 all in deal for 2 people Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal!! This included a bottle of wine and seemed a little too good to be true.

We arrived at the hotel on the saturday evening and where checked in by friendly staff, we booked our table for the evening and headed to the room. we got a Supirior room in the deal and this was very nice. We had a good sized bathroom with bath & shower and the usual amminities in the room, kettle, trouser press and TV.

TV was the basic channels + a few news ones but good enough.

We ate in the resturant where we had a nice 3 course meal, the starters being brought to the table and us collecting the main and desert from a counter, almost carvery like. There where four good choices for each.

The free wine was very drinkable and the resturant had a good atmosphere.

After a good relaxing night breakfast was very typical of these kind of hotels, all you can eat buffet style. Everything was hot or cold as expected and again the staff where helpful.

After checking out we drove home feeling very relaxed.

£38 was not alot to live up to, but the staff and hotel made this seem like a real bargain and I would say it is comparable or better than most of the Premier Inns I have stayed in and there have been to many of them.

Thank You!

True, we had an excellent deal spotted on Travelzoo (£38 per room including dinner, breakfast and a bottle of wine) and, after reading some reviews, were expecting the worst. Not so! The hotel and room were clean and fresh, beds comfortable and staff pleasant and helpful. We had already arranged dinner with friends so didn't sample the menu but were given the free bottle of wine. Breakfast offered a good choice but suffered the usual buffet problem of not being hot enough.
Overall, the hotel has a little hint of 1970s decor and could probably use a revamp but we would not hesitate to use it again
