Called in for impromptu lunch, Visited before so were keen to visit again, HAd Fish burger, which was a peice of battered fish, not some reconstituted rubbish and a Blue cheese Burger. Finally somewhere that understands that if you order a burger with Blue Stilton, you like blue stilton and want it to taste of it! So a Nice big slab of molten Blue was melting nicely on my burger. We also had a side of chipolata's which were OK, but the balsamic and mustard sauce excelled.

All in all a loveley pub, with great food, Staff were OK, Maybe not the most "polished" but perfectly pleasant

Reserved some tables here for a meal with a group of about 20 other people. Looked nice from the outside and inside as well. Took a while to get served at the bar but it did look busy as it was a sunday evening. We all ordered food as different tables and me, my girlfriend and her gran ordered as one. Everyone got their meals and it took well over an hour after we ordered for the waitress to explain that the check machine hadnt worked and so the chefs didnt have our order. We were offered free drinks while we waited. When the food came me and my girlfriend were very dissappointed. I ordered a pie and the pasty wasnt crispy but soggy as were the chips as well. It was all very hot and i suspect that it had been microwaved. The meat on the roast was very tough and the yorkshire pudding was disgusting. We had no check back asking if everything so ok and no one asked after the meal either. At nearly £10 a meal i was expecting alot more. It was such a shame as everyone elses meal looked very nice and we were given left overs as food had stopped by the time they realised we were missing our meals.

Booked family meal for ten. Decided to keep things simple and most adults went for the Sunday roast. Children with burgers etc. no starters. Very very slow service and when it arrived was old fashioned soggy veg and overdone roasties. A child's cheeseburger appeared to have no cheese but after two trips back to the kitchen the waiter told us the cheese was melted into the bread! Plates were slow to be cleared and we eventually had to ask about sweets and then it took nearly half an hour to get some ice cream and one tart. All in all old fashioned quality of food and poor service meant we won't be going back.

Food average. Staff not very professional. They shout over to each other from the bar to the table where they sit to have their break. Very off putting if you happen to be sitting nearby. Don't think I would go again.

Had lunch here on the 23rd March with my parents. I had the fish, chips and peas. Also ordered was rump steak and pork chops (specials board). Food arrived around 20 mins later. It was hot and very tasty. The staff are very attentive. Had no problems and would definitely go again as all 3 of us cleared our plates.
