Had the new years eve bash last night and the team ran by fleur, Craig and mags performed absolutely brilliantly. This was the first time we had been for new years and will most certainly do it again. The food was excellent and with such variety was a credit to them. Thanks again for a great night!!!

Yesterday 13th Dec 2012
Went for a booked Xmas meal for six people.
The soup was tasteless.
The Main Course - the Turkey was wrapped around Stuffing .It resembled a cricket ball and was dry. Carrots, mangetout and sprouts were not cooked, Parsnips were overcooked and mushy and the Roast Potatoes were like Black Rocks. Totally inedible and all six people returned their meal to the kitchen. Were offered £4 per person refund - not really enough for a totally spoiled reunion Also the coffee was served with icy cold milk and one of the mince tarts supplied was served broken into two.
Definately the most horrible meal I have had in my 76 years

Heard through the grapevine a new head chef had taken over at the Wilton Arms so we had to try it. What can I say, the food is amazing, presentation of food is delightful, the specials board looks very well planned out, the food is fabulous. Scallop starter with black pudding and chilli oil was to die for, scallops cooked to perfection and looked so pretty on the plate. Venison with redcurrant sauce was stunning. Can't rave enough about the food. The Wilton arms is the closest you will now get to fine dining without leaving bolton, wouldn't be surprised if it received AA rosettes in the future

This place is great, the food is amazing, the views are wonderful. The staff are helpful and happy to be there, met a waiter who had been a gig with my dad the night before (because my dad was wearing his t-shirt) and they were happy to chat. We go for family catch ups as it such a nice place. My only slight negative was my b/f and I went for lunch one day and the staff seemed to be having a staff meeting in the middle of the place which turned into a bit of slag off of there colleagues, it was a bit uncomfortable but wont let it put me off.

We went for a weekday lunch. The pub was packed. Haven't eaten there for over a year and was pleasantly surprised by the food. We had the scampi and steak and ale pie. Both were fine and the portions were generous. Its a nicely decorated pub, the only problem was we were sat in the conservatory and it was draughty. There was an unlit log fire in the middle of the room. It would have been lovely and cosy if it had been lit, and would have enhanced the ambience. I like a country pub to have a fire. We enjoyed our trip so much that we decided to book for Boxing Day and New Year. The price was reasonable, £22 for two mains, two soft drinks and two coffee liquers.
