“Great location for local cities or football”
Reviewed March 3, 2010

My in laws where coming up from South Wales so we splurged to stay for 3 nights with them as we hadnt seen them for 6 months and they also came up as they were invited up for my dads wedding.

The rooms are very spacious and my in laws where lucky enough to get adjoining rooms and we were just across the hallway so all very close together. The family rooms offer a shower were the double rooms offer a bath/shower so quite different but both bathrooms were very spacious and nicely fitted. The car park is very big and offers loads of space.

If you want somewhere to stay for going to local cities or just a Bolton Wanderers football match stay here as the stadium is just across the road which we did on the saturday and there is a train station just 2 mins walk from the hotel which takes you manchester, blackpool and bolton if need be.

The food on offer close by is theres a harvester and scotts bar which offer food and drinks just outside the hotel entrance. But if you dont mind having a little walk the local retail park offers all the usual fast food places, nandos and a chinese restaraunt. For something to do there is 10 pin bowling or you can go to the cinemas.

This hotel was easy to find as we were going to a party about 5 minutes drive away - plenty off eateries etc near by - rooms great. Didn't hear any noise. Some others we went with had breakfast and said it wasn't worth £7.50 but there were lots of places to get something to eat nearby! Would stay again! Suited our needs!

Lovely clean bathrooms and a great shower. Medium sized room, kettle/ tea and coffee, press iron, tv etc...
5 minutes walk to town.
Good leisure facilties.
Slight negative was at breakfast, the food quality was excellent but breakfast staff disorganised, tables not being cleared, had to ask for hot food to be restocked all basic stuff but did not spoil the stay which until breakfast felt was higher rating than a 4 star.
Would happily recommend and stay again.

Good hotel in great location of you are going to the stadion or shopping. Rooms are basic, breakfast is quite good as well. Staff is ok as well but don't expect them to go out of their way.
Good value for money for £63 a night.

Needed somewhere quite cheap yet comfortable for me and my girlfriend to stay in while I visited her. We have had enough of the old-fashioned, cheap and nasty B&Bs in Bolton and Manchester so we thought we'd pay a little extra and go for a 'brand' name hotel.

It was basic but clean, tidy and very plesent. Location is excellent for Middlebrook Retail Park and most importantly the Reebok Stadium. Horwich Parkway station is a 3 minute walk after a 30 minute journey out of Manchester. The staff were friendly and helpful and I was in my room within 2 minutes of entering the Hotel. Bathrooms are very nice and spacious. Beds are comfortable. The view out of my window should have been the bars and restaurants adjacent (of which are also excellent) but was instead a coach possibly due to the matchday but this didnt bother us.

Just two small comments rather than complaints. First was the noise. We stayed on a Saturday night and the place was full of kids. Looked like a school or youth club group. They charged up and down corridors and stairs till past midnight. While this wasnt the Hotel's fault staff must have been disturbed by this too. Second was that the complimentary continental breakfast, while being very tasty, was limited and there wasnt alot left when we got there about an hour and a bit before breakfast was due to finish.

Check-out was even quicker than check-in!

Overall it was a very plesent stay and I will have no worries about staying again in the future. It was my first stay in a branded budget Hotel and I would be very happy to use Holiday Inns in the future.

This is a decent hotel with some nice staff, others however are useless.

The room was fine and breakfast good however we were in room 105 with our 1 year old daughter.

The problems started around 5.30am when the breakfast staff arrived. The preparation area was right next to room 105. For the next hour they proeeded to shout, giggle and generally make as much noise as they could, constantly setting off our daughter's voice activated toy in her cot it, the noise was that loud.

Next about 6.30am a load of revellers arrived back and started arguing on the corridors, not the hotels fault but they could have put a family further away from reception with some thought.

I asked at the front desk how to complain, I was given a phone number and sent on my way, they may no attempt to listen to either my wife or me.

So overall a decent hotel, but get as far away from the reception area as you can if you want a good nights sleep.
