“Premier Inn Plus”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

No doubt along with many others we find that Premier Inn offers a consistently good standard and value for money. However, having said that Premier Inn Bolton at the Reebok Stadium adds something very special and that is the level of service and friendliness of the staff. I had read of this from other trip advisor comments prior to our arrival, but was still not quite prepared for the warmth of greeting and personal service throughout our short stay. Certainly many more up-market hotels could learn a lot from a short stay at this particular hotel. On departure we asked a member of staff what was the secret behind their approach. It seems to be simply a matter of a group of people who enjoy working together, who want to provide a good service and are well led. Congratulations to them all - I hope that the plus that they offer to Premier Inn is fully recognised.

As others here say, the staff are welcoming, the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The stand-out feature is the breakfast service which is traditional full English served as a buffet. The food is well cooked and those items that benefit from individual care (eg poached eggs) are cooked to order.

Transport is easy with a nearby railway station and easy access to the motorway.

There are small areas where improvement could be made, but they are few and relatively unimportant. There's no restaurant service in the evening, but there are two restaurants in the grounds. One of these is a Harvester pub. The food is adequate but you may get a bit tired of it if you have to eat there for several days. Match days at the nearby Reebok stadium can be a pain - it's very difficult to get in an out of the hotel just before and just after a match and local pubs are only permitted to sell beer in paper cups. However the inconvenience passes in a few hours and does not detract from the hotel. The hotel employs security staff on match days so parking is unaffected; give the staff on the gate your reservation details and they will let you in.

There is a large shopping area close to the hotel - the Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park. It's simply a collection of large national retailers and franchises but you can get get cheap fuel at Asda, get a reasonable coffee at Costa, eat at Nando's etc. It's possible to walk to the shops/restaurants but the route isn't obvious. Go over a footbridge and around the back of the Stadium. You will find ATM/Cash Machines on the furthest side of the stadium from the hotel.

Overall it's the best hotel in Bolton and others in the area are disappointing by comparison.

Room Tip: Rooms facing towards the car park and towards the nearby railway station are quiet. Rooms facing tow...

The Reebok stadium Premier Inn is fantastic and they get it right consistently every time.
The guys who run the breakfast within the Hotel always go above and beyond- i have not got a great appetite 1st thing so the team suggested a really good idea and allowed me to take out a breakfast sandwich wrapped with a bag. Such a nice touch

Room Tip: just be polite

We recently stand here for two nights while we were visiting family in Bolton. The hotel is very clean with excellent staff and has a lot of amenities close by. There is a harvester and a sports bar in the same car park. The football ground is opposite and there is a massive retail park opposite within walking distance. There was a Tesco , Asda , Bowling, Ask and next all in the retail park.
Parking was fine and the train station was behind the hotel.

Best thing was we paid £19 per night over the weekend.

The staff were amazing at this hotel and were really helpful

Have to say a good welcome and happy smiling faces is pretty rare nowadays but at Bolton Premier Inn they were fab and have it in abundance. Keep up the good work. They were talkative and offered recommendations for a cracking curry house...and damn it was good!!

I stayed here for the recent Bolton Wanderers match vs Peterborough United, and as away fans we were instantly told by the car park attendents that we were not allowed to go into the on-site Harvester restaurant or the bar next door. At first this was frustrating, after a three hour drive (and hungry) as this small piece of information could surely have been placed on the information part of the Premier Inn website, and we could have got something to eat on the way up instead. Not to worry though, as a five minute walk round the stadium there is a number of places to eat. Back to the hotel, the staff were very friendly and supplied us with taxi numbers on request, the room was clean and spotless. The hotel is also very easy to find, straight off the main road and right next to the football ground, can't miss it. Only downside to the room was that we had two beds (double and a twin), I stayed in the twin and it was very uncomfortable and didn't get a lot of sleep, and my mate said the double wasn't a lot better. There was also a number of loud noises in the early hours, whether this was other guests or the water pipes I'm not sure! This is a perfect hotel for any football fan wanting to stay after a Bolton game.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in February - very convenient for rail links to Manchester and the north west. handy for taxi access to DW Stadium in Wigan and within easy walking distance of reebok stadium the home of Bolton wanderers FC. One downside no restaurant in the building although breakfasts are available.

There is a harvester restaurant and a bar within the car park area
