“TOTAL RELAXATION”
Reviewed August 10, 2011

was after a quiet weekend away and it ticked all boxes, quiet rural area with lovely views from balcony in our en suite room, huge bed, lovely shower room, nice touches like bath sheets, shower gel, hand wash/lotion also fridge and microwave available to use downstairs, fresh milk on tap for those brews instead of the useless fiddly sachets big chains provide.. lovely breakfast in family kitchen and host Christine goes the extra mile should you require it.. highly recommend

Room Tip: front balcony room has huge bed and balcony in sun from lunch till sunset

hi,
It was a pleasure to welcome you both to 'Ingleside House', so glad that you enjoyed the hospitality that we have to offer, and for making reference to the front balcony ensuite room for other tripadvisors to review. This is the best room in the house for watching the most stunning sunsets over the open country views.
hope to see you next time your planning a weekend of relaxation.
many thanks
christine

We stayed in this B&B while attending a family wedding. We arrived to be told that we were to be accommodated in a different house in the village - no mention of this was made at any time before we arrived - despite there being ample opportunity to let us know. The fact that there is more than one property is not mentioned on the web site (as far as I can see). The accommodation in the house inthe village was fairly basic - not up to the standard advertised and probably not worth the money. The breakfast was fine and the lady who prepared it was very nice.

hi,
we are so disappointed that your concerns werent brought to our attention at your time of your stay when you were asked if everything was ok. I feel that your comments are inaccurate, and your opinions do greatly differ from them of other tripadvisor guests that have stopped at Ingleside and Inglenook. We have just had our annual inspection from the Tourist board who have graded us a 4 star accommodation, The tourist boards definition of standards are very strict and 4 star grading isnt easily achieved. so sorry that we didnt meet your expectations.

This was our first time here and the accomodation was better than many hotels we have stayed in. Excellent room, great views and the breakfast was first class, setting us up for the day ahead. Would definitely come back.

We recently stayed at Ingleside with a whole crowd of family including 2 babies and we couldnt have asked for a warmer welcome, there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, it was the perfect place for us. The rooms are comfy and have everything you need, plus there was space to hang out altogether downstairs, it felt like home from home. Christine's mum was really helpful when we asked to put our baby's food in the fridge and she kindly supplied us with lots of cups of tea in the morning. The breakfast was huge and we didn't feel pushed to leave straight away either. Will definitely come back if we're in the area again. Thanks for having us!

Room Tip: The back bedroom was the biggest, and had en suite

My wife & I were guests at a friend's wedding being held at Haigh Hall nearby, and Ingleside House was an excellent choice for an overnight stay. In fact, we would have stayed longer such was the comfort & hospitality of this delightful 'home from home', the highlights being the luxurious on-suite room with & the cracking 'full english' in the morning. Not forgetting the tranquil view from the balcony of the rolling West Lancashire countryside. Highly Recommended!

Room Tip: Try the rear double room with balcony...fabulous!

This was my first time staying somewhere on my own and I could not have picked a nicer, easier place to stay. Such lovely, easy going people who could not be more accommodating of my needs. The room was beautiful - a real boutique feel about it but without the boutique price tag. My room was clean, cosy and modern, with the use of a fridge, microwave and laundry facilities inclusive of the price - just a genius idea! Other b&bs could really learn a thing or two from the way Ingleside do business. Would not think of staying anywhere else if I am in the area again. Perfect.
