We had a very early morning flight so stayed here the previous night and it was great to get up and simply walk across the road to the North Terminal. The hotel was all that I expected of a Premier Inn - clean, comfortable and very quiet - we overlooked an interior courtyard.

We chose this hotel as I believe it is a flagship property for the chain and the location is unbeatable. We had an early flight departing from the North Terminal so everything stacked up in its favour. When we arrived the reception was in disarray. There were big queues for the self service machines and many customers were obviously confused and required lots of assistance from staff.
The room itself was exactly as Premier Inn advertise. The rooms are basic and functional. This is to the Mandarin Oriental but the rooms are clean and beds comfortable for a short layover.
As a previous reviewer mentioned booking a table for dinner by text only works before 5pm.
Our stay really went downhill when we were left no option but to eat in the restaurant. This was due to no cabs being available (to take us to our dinner venue) due to the train lines coming to a halt at gatwick.
I asked the restaurant if we could have a table for dinner @ 730 pm. The server said we couldn't have a table before 830. When I enquirer about the empty tables and the possibility of us sitting in one of them we were advised that the kitchen was too busy and that was why we would have to wait.
We went to the bar where you can order bar snacks. The bar area was in chaos. Staff appeared to be having difficulty with orders and I suspect lacked experience. Once we had ordered our food we had to wait 90 minutes for our order to arrive. Each time we enquired as to how long it would take we kept being told another 10 minutes. As an attempt at service recovery we were refunded our food bill. The food itself was very poor quality.
Breakfast was a much better proposition and was very well organised and the staff friendly.
As I said you can't beat the location but something is awry in the dining department.

I am disappointed to hear of your bad experience in our restaurant and for the queues at reception. I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for this, the time you waited for your food was unacceptable and again I am very sorry for this.
Your feedback is so important to us as it is only through honest feedback such as this that we can see where we have failed and ensure that this does not happen again. Your feedback has also been passed onto the appropriate departmental manager to take back to his team.

I was however delighted to hear that your experience at breakfast was completely different and you found it to be organised and the team friendly. I am also pleased your found the hotel to be in an unbeatable location and the rooms to be exactly as we advertise.

I do hope that we can welcome you back to Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport North Terminal again in the future and hopefully be given the chance to restore your faith in our restaurant.

We stayed at the beginning and end of our holiday due to our flight times. The location is perfect for either terminal as it is right next to the monorail. Great value at £29 so cheaper for us to stay the night before out flight then get a taxi, and got to stay in bed longer. Can not fault the hotel.

Room was very clean and modern with all the basic facilities for a overnight stop before an early morning flight, including toiletries, tea and coffee tray and a good television. the room was sound proof so noise from the road outside could be heard but the heating system within the room was a little noisy and kept waking me up when the fans cut in and out.
The terminal is just across the road so the location is ideal.
Excellent value especially if you book in advance

We booked this hotel for just £19 on a Premier Inn promotion. We arrived late on a saturday night after a long day returning from holiday. It took us just 2 minutes to walk from arrivals to the hotel and we were checked in soon after. The rooms are currently in tip top condition (though i am not sure if this is because they have only just been opened) Had a great nights sleep and all four of us fitted in the room well.
The breakfast area was very smart and a pleasant place to have breakfast. We headed home refreshed and pleased we didnt drive home tired the night before.

Having come off a 7.5 hour flight in North Terminal to walk 2 mins to this Hotel, Premier Inn was such a comfort. Quick self service check in, but staff on site to help if need be, rooms very clean, new hotel, Thyme restaurant excellent, had best nights sleep ever! Our only quip was that the bath water was "luke warm" and was so looking forward to a long hot bath but never mind, Premier Inns always get our 5 stars!

Stayed here for one night on route to catch a flight. Excellent location and value for money, same as the sister hotel across the road. The only downside was that the room was a little smelly, probably some kind of cleaning agent and the window did not open to air the room. So I spent the first couple of hours with a headache as the smell was very strong.
Apart from that the hotel is of the usual Premier Inn standard as far as comfort is concerned. However, as this hotel is somewhat larger than the sister hotel at the North terminal, the personal touch seems to be missing, which is not helped by 'airline' type self service checkin counters.
