The bar was packed so getting pre- dinner drinks was not easy and the staff continually failed to serve customers in fair turn. This didn't bode well. To the restaurant, and it was full but we were seated and had our orders taken quickly. The food presentation was excellent, timely and whilst not huge in quantity, far better than we had expected. Staff were a bit busy and after the entre, just left us but nothing to get upset over. Certainly worth a visit if you're flying out or live locally.

Like many we were overnight prior to departing on holiday the following morning. The food in the Brasserie was stunning especially the lamb with snails. Good crisp service, reasonably priced wine. Will be going back for more in October!

Food ok, wine "angels" a gimmick, too dark to see the average meal. I think they have you captive and know it.

We hadnt booked and it was very busy but we had a table within 30 mins. Food was really very tasty, good option for a meal if you are flying out early. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We always stay at Sofitel ahead of flying out on holiday and part of "getting the holiday off to a good start" is eating at La Brasserie. The staff are great - attentive without being intrusive and the right balance of friendly and professional. And the quality of the staff is matched by the quality of the food. As semi regulars we have our firm favourites (the crab and prawn salad is a starter must) but are happy to try new things as they appear - the recently added beef ribs are the latest delight. The little touches such as the amuse-bouche and variety of bread rolls offered gives it all that "something a bit special" feel. As well as self indulgence, we have used La B to catch up with friends who live near Gatwick and they were similarly impressed. I wish I could visit more often - like I said, I wish I lived closer to this place ................
