Mum and Dad were flying out the next day and we wanted to have dinner with them first. We scoured the region without much luck and then, thanks to Trip Advisor, found La Brasserie right in their hotel. We got in early, 6:30, without booking but they were turning people away by the time we left.
The menu is quite ambitious with intelligent flourishes added to every dish. There is also an emphasis on local produce. My lamb came with snails and artichoke purée, the chicken with foie gras mousse, dad's fish and chips had a soft-boiled quails egg. The food was well executed and presented with flair.
The wine list is compact and well laid out. It's not the cheapest but our carignan for just over £30 was very good.
The service attitude is good though there are slips - don't expect 4 plates to arrive at once. They recover well without prompting though.
Very good overall and a pleasant space too.
