We booked into the Courtyard by Marriott Gatwick for a convenient overnight stay as we had an early morning flight to the Caribbean the following morning. We walked to the hotel from the terminal we flew in to (Terminal 2) I think. It took about 10 minutes which was adequate considering we had our suitcases. The hotel itself is bright and busy. As we arrived late we did not avail of the bar or restaurant, just headed straight to our room. It was very spacious and had a lovely comfortable kingsize bed. The bathroom was very large and equipped for the disabled traveller. We did not get breakfast here the following morning, just go the shuttle (€10 for the 2 of us as we had no sterling for a 3-4 minute bus ride, bit of a rip off from the drivers point of view!!). Overall comfortable and a nice place to lay your head for the night!!

The Hotel is clean modern and very comfortable especially the beds. The restaurant is only so so, e.g. my wife's steak was tough and overdone.. But you are a bit trapped as it is a way to anywhere else so they don't seem to think they have to make any effort. Pity as some of the food was not bad. Would stay again but eat elsewhere.

Not a bad deal for 1 night with 2 weeks parking, but the classic case of "captive market". We had checked on the website to see if our car could stay in the Marriot car park overnight so we could put our overnight bag in it the next morning and the website said "yes by arrangement", so we booked the hotel. When we checked the car in we discovered the arrangement was £18.00!! - apparently mentioned in the very small print. We went to the bar and ordered a double vodka and a double gin with mixers, and they charged us £17.40 - a prebooked 3 course meal is less than £15.00! Not a fan of captive market pricing, so next time will stay elsewhere.

On the plus side the rooms were nice, and clean, and the staff were very pleasant.

We have stayed at this hotel several times because it is a 10 minute walk from Gatwick South Terminal. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and it is ideal if you have an early flight. There is a shuttle bus if you don't fancy the walk. There is a restaurant but there is also a bar menu which we understand is the same as the restaurant but with less choices. Unfortunately the menu is overpriced and also the options are very limited. Also, we realised, despite the fact that we had stayed there 3 times previously, that the price of the food includes a 10% gratuity which is mentioned in very small print on the menu. When we queried this when we checked out we were informed that you have to ask for this to be taken off the bill when you order the food. The only thing offered that seemed to be even vaguely value for money were the sandwiches.
