Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly Mandy. We were staying for a family do, and it wasn't a problem for me to check my dad in who had gone straight to the party. Mandy offered us tea and coffee, on top of the facilities in the room which was more like percolated coffee than the usual instant granules.

We stayed in the yellow room (room 3), but we were lucky enough to see room 2 & 4 as other family members were also staying. ALL the rooms were stunning, and extremely clean. The bed was really comfortable and the views out of the triple window across the rear gardens and countryside was lovely. There was a large en-suite bathroom (we found out this used to be the family bathroom) with bath, bidet, toilet, sink unit and separate walk-in shower cubicle.

Breakfast in the morning was a really relaxed affair, after we had moved the tables (with Mandy's smiley approval) so we could all chat. there was a choice of breakfast, and after quick hello from Paul, we were all treated to a delightful menu, with black puddings being swapped about plates without hesitation in the kitchen. I would personally recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

Overall a very relaxing stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I am in the area again.

Room Tip: All rooms are clean and have lovely views....personally the yellow room (3) was more than enough for a couple, but the lavender room (2) did feel slightly more opulent for a smaller price increase.

Beautiful location and a very friendly owner. The little touches really made a difference, from a selection of teas available to choose from, to a fan on in the room when we arrived (we were in the middle of a rare British heatwave). The beds were extremely comfortable and I had one of the best nights sleep i've had in a long time despite the heat. Normally I prefer hotels to guest houses but this experience has begun to sway my view. Sorry we are only staying one night

We recently attended a family wedding and stayed for a couple of nights at Dovecote Grange.

It was a most enjoyable stay. The accommodation in the recently constructed property was excellent. The food was just as we would have wished. The service and attention from Mandy and Paul was first class.

We would not hesitate to stay there again - in fact if we were anywhere in the locality we would seek it out. It has quite changed our conceptual thinking of 'Bed and Breakfast Accommodation'.

Had booked just one night, as we were attending a family wedding in the area, phoned on the day to enquire if we could book in earlier than stated time, as we wanted to change before the wedding, told this would be no problem.
Arrived to a warm welcome, and shown our rooms, which were delightful, large, clean and very attractively furnished. The bed was a dream to sleep in, the en-suite was huge, the full width of the room in fact.
Drink making facilities were provided, with coffee sachets to make ground coffee, plus plentiful additional supplies outside on the spacious landing. Breakfast provided a varied menu, and was really enjoyed.
It is worth paying that little bit extra to enjoy such warm hospitality, quality of service and high standards.
Would recommend highly, without hesitation.

Room Tip: On a quiet lane, so no problem with traffic noise, beautiful views too.

This is our second visit to Dovecote and it is reliably lovely. We have stayed in the same room twice (room 2) so I cannot comment on the other rooms but room two is really spacious for a family with a Superking bed and sofa bed. The bathroom is huge with an oversized bath and seperate shower, all immaculate. Room 2 has everything you could need with bathrobes, hair dryer, flat screen tv and DVD, tea and coffee making etc. there's a library of DVD's to borrow downstairs in the very welcoming lounge. The breakfast is delicious and really well cooked, Mandy will pretty much cater for whatever you want. If you want cheap and nasty then go down the road to the Travelodge but if you want to be looked after in an immaculate house that makes you feel like you are part of the home then this is for you. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Room 2 is perfect for families (Lavender room)
