The ruins of this Cistercian Abbey in a lovely setting. Car parking space is limited with parking along the roadway leading to the entrance steps. The toilets (portaloo type, 2 in number, unisex) are located on the outside of the site.
The area around the ruins of the Abbey is grass plenty of room for the kids to run around, at the bottom of the site there are picnic tables available.
The site is on varying levels with steps in places. Access available to all the site to explore the ruins, with the impressive vaulted ceilings, stone work and the tiled floor in the Chapter House.
I suggest suitable footwear be worn and slippy in places.
We took the circular woodland walk down to the River Severn took about 20 minutes

Note that facilities are limited on this site, entrance building selling limited products

Came here after visiting Much Wenlock Priory...maybe if we came before it would have been more impressive, but after Wenlock, it’s seemed so small, and a short visit.
However despite the size it was lovely, good ruins, nice area with benches, and just to the side (Hidden and almost missed) is a picnic area
Worth the time if you have an hour to spare in summer and want something to do, and only a few quid

Ruins of a Cistercian Abbey with a bit extra, as there are some remains of tiled floor and decorative stonework.
Very small kiosk as you enter, but still a few items for sale.
There are toilets available of the "portaloo" type.
Very tranquil surroundings.

We have visited this English Heritage property quite a lot but as we are members we keep going back as it is so peaceful there. The ruins are great to look at, obviously it would be more lovely if complete but Henry V111 had other ideas. It does not take long to get around and see everything but the area is beautiful and you can have a walk around the woodland. Wenlock Priory is only 3 miles away.

Went to the abbey to take some photo's of the place and was disappointed with the size of the ground. You walk around in about 10-15 mins for £3.50 entry fee.
Wouldn't take a family their kids would be bored in minutes.
