I stayed here as I had a business conference at Telford ICC. This was the only available hotel available I may add.
For £60 per night for a small double room seemed a bit pricey, as the hotel is very old fashioned and is in the middle of nowhere! There is nothing within walking distance.
The bar shut at about 11pm, and a JD and coke cost nearly £6 - expensive!
Breakfast was not included in the price, but I left early anyway.
Would maybe stay again if I was desperate.
Beautiful garden though!! :)

Room Tip: Some have no natural daylight and some are up tiny winding stairs....

I used this hotel as a base to explore the surrounding area of Telford, Bridgnorth, Shifnal, Ironbridge and Birmingham and stayed three nights. It is in a lovely rural location and I believe people use it as a base for walking around the Wrekin. I originally tried for more town centre hotels but they were all booked and having seen them (souless but functional) I am glad I chose this hotel. The room was clean and the staff polite and friendly. Food wise we decided to take breakfast in the hotel and I am glad we did. There was a lot of variety (full English, toast, fruit, yoghurt, cereal etc) and I didn't feel hurried and never had to wait for a table. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely come here again.

Room Tip: This place is a maze, be sure to read the signs properly (I didn't) otherwise you will be wander...

Spent two nights here recently for annual school reunion. There were 15 of us and we had a great time. Plenty of lounge space and the service was fantastic! Wonderful bunch of staff who were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant and bar food excellent! Highly recommended.

Excellent location; as rural as possible when so close to civilisation. We stayed one night with two children, our 11 week old baby and a dog while we were at The Midlands game fair. Friendly staff, no problem breastfeeding in the bar. Very cheap. Lovely rooms. It was a bit too hot but I find most hotels are!

Unfortunately there was a function on the night we stayed. The music from the ground floor was an insomnia inducing frustration.

We booked the hotel for peace and quiet in a rural location, the last thing I expected was to feel as if I was sleeping over a city centre bar. It can't be above the common sense of the staff to book those who aren't attending into rooms further away from the function.

That said the food was excellent, the staff attentive and the location stunning. Although disappointed we can see the potential and will probably try to visit again after making sure there are no large functions on.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms over the function rooms.

The location and rooms are very good but the stay was ruined by poor food and a very loud disco until 1am. The options seemed to be along the lines of sleeping with a pillow over your head or two pillows over your head. "Sorry you'll just have to put up with it" attitude wasn't really good enough.

We had a two night break with ur 8 year old daughter at the Buckatree last week. We have been before but stayed at the same time as a large coach party & we now believe we did not see the hotel at its best as we did this time round. So basically if you are not keen on coach party's, ask the hotel when booking if they have any & just avoid them, if your not bothered then go at any time.
This hotel is very pretty, set in a fantastic area, with a nature reserve across the road & "The Wrekin" a few minutes walk away, a beautiful climb to give you wonderful views over to Wales. Ironbridge Gorge is just up the road, so ideal for this as well. Shrewbury only 12 miles away, a very pretty & historic town to visit.
The A5 tourist route into Wales is a fantastic trip with Snowdonian approx 1.5 - 2 hrs away with a steady drive, taking in the views.
The hotel itself is very peacfull with lovely gardens & a small lake, ask for the rooms overlooking this if possible, as its a treat to sit out on the balcony. Menu's are good & reasonable priced, we have not eaten dinner there yet as we were out all day on trips, but if breakfast is anything to go by then it will be good. Dining room is fresh, clean & service is of a high standard.
If you do have any problems, then the manager & staff will ensure they are dealt with. We will be going back as this hotel is a real hidden treat.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake.
