Stayed here looking for someone to shack up for two nights, as my usual haunts were fully booked / too expensive. Was charged 48 a night which is on the cheap side.

The hotel is very tired looking and last saw an update in the early 80's. However it was clean and tidy. The staff were lovely and the pool was nice, if slightly cloudy water. The ground of the hotel are superb however.

Nice if you are looking for someone cheap to stay ...

Stayed for 2 nights for my birthday weekend. I booked the hotel due to the low price and central location for days out in the area.

I did ask for a nice room when I booked the hotel, I really hope room 1 isn't actually classed as one of their better rooms, right next to the reception and hallway door which bangs all night when it is used. You practically have to break into your room as the lock is so awful.

Room basics are ok clean. However the lack of curtains baffled me just blinds that don't fully shut which is great when you are on the ground floor next to the entrance so people can see in when you change!

Security is awful there is no chain lock on the door someone walked into our room on Saturday (I think it was the wedding party) they were aparently told that room 1 was the room that the guests could use the toilet in?! So a pair of ladies walked in on my partner getting ready to go to the pool! Then on the day we were leaving we heard someone unlock our door and walk in then the door was quickly closed that is one way to be woken up before 9am on a Sunday morning!

Pool not too bad, clean and nice temperature.

Try to avoid when there is a wedding on unless you think sleep is over rated, awful banging music until late you would have thought they would have allocated rooms for the wedding guests close to reception instead!

I would have told the receptionist this on departure however he never bothered asking how our stay was, I guess he knew he would get a bad response!

Stayed one night for a seminar. The room was a bit tired, but £60 for the night was good value really, swimming pool was pretty good but small and the water was very cloudy! Staff very friendly and helpful.

Went to this place or a murder mystery night. It was a fantastic, food was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice. Used the pool and sauna facilities, which were very nice. Lovely warm pool. The only down side was there wasn't a room available that had a full size bed. Most rooms only have 4' x 6' beds. The tv came on 3 times in the night by itself. Otherwise very nice stay comfortable bed, would go again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with normal size bed

We stayed here for one night for a Murder Mystery evening. Throughout the stay, the staff were all friendly and willing, but quite often lacked refinement. The bar staff were entertaining, but not very efficient or switched on. Breakfast, it was explained to us, was a buffet, but guests are requested to only take what they wish to eat - a comment, probably meant well, but which made us feel like we were expected to be greedy and walk off with the entire server of bacon!

We stayed in the Bridal Suite, which was larger than the other rooms in the hotel, and we found it to be quite spacious. The whole hotel, though, really needs a revamp. The carpet and the wallpaper, in fact, all the decor, is looking worn and dated.

The meal we were served for dinner was very good.

Generally, nothing amazing, but really not bad either. With a little refinement, this could be somewhere special.

On arrival we felt the staff were more interested in the wedding guests. No information was given to us about ANYTHING apart from directions to the room. Room was like a shoe box and the bed was only 4ft! The hover was left out on the landing, ceiling tiles were missing, it smelt musty, not my ideal place. The best thing was that the manager moved us to the Devere Village after we complained

Staff very pleasant and helpful, but everything a bit chaotic.
Visited during a wedding, the communal toilets in the morning still had drinks glasses in and hadn't been cleaned, there was piece of half eaten cake in a plant pot in a hall way.
Breakfast good value, rooms clean and basic.
Setting fantastic though it you want to be amongst nature - blue bells, walled garden, gold finches, song thrushes, great dawn chorus.
Swimming pool was a major attraction for me but it was very cloudy.
It was a Friday night, £55.00 b&b for single room. Would have been happier if it had been a bit cheaper.
