We booked through booking.com and got a great deal £47 for one night two people, including breakfast. The check in process was very slow, I've stayed at Holiday Inns all over and this one didn't have staff who were the brightest of the bunch. Each shift had staff who I would wonder why they were working in the hospitality industry and others who were very, very slow.
The actual room was small but sufficient, the bed was comfortable and we did sleep well.
The breakfast though - if we'd known then what we know now we would have swerved it completely. It felt like we were flung back to school days with people lining up for food that was cold, non existent and generally bad. They kept running out of hot items; the only thing that was hot was the half-cooked sausages. The eggs were cold, the coffee was dreadful (they have two coffee machines which look state of the art but wouldn't know hot water if it got poured all over them).
For the £47 room night we'd have preferred to go out and pay for breakfast.
