First impression of this hotel is that the entrance appears to be just a door in a wall. There is no hotel car park - you have to walk about 5 mins to the main station car park, but it is only round the corner. There is only space for 3 cars to drop off your luggage and check in. These spaces were full when I arrived so I parked on the pedestrian area next to the hotel. The police station is close by and there were plenty of police around but they were unconcerned that people park in this place so it must be ok. When I arrived it was extremely busy but the staff did a great job getting everyone checked in. I got an upgraded room which was very large and had an excellent shower. You get the usual wide range of pillows to choose from as per all HIXs. This was my first trip to Swindon and I didn't know the area so I had dinner in the restaurant. The choice was limited but the food was tasty. The bed was comfortable and choice of food for breakfast was what you would expect from a HIX. The hotel is easy to find - Satnav took me right to the door - and is well situated. The staff are excellent - they took care of the keys for my hire car and organised a taxi for me.
