“clean & reasonably priced”

Our room was basic, but comfortable & clean. The only complaint I have is there was only one small bath towel and if you prefer a bath to a shower, the bath is a little on the small side.(I am only 5' 5'') The staff were very helpful and friendly. Full English and Continental breakfast are served daily at an extra cost but are worth the price. I would definitely recommend it and we will stay here again.

You get what you pay for, this is not the sort of Hotel i would stay for a long period of time. It is very basic but having said that it was comfortable for what we wanted. One or two nights would be enough but it does have a nice restaurant which offers a range of good food. On our arrival i had to ask for our toilet to be cleaned but it was done with in minutes but this should have been done in the 1st place. Don't expect a wardrobe , i had to laugh as i was looking for somewhere to put our clothes only to find a large pole with some hangers on it !!!! that was the wardrobe but it was fine for two nights worth of clothes. Ask for a room away from the front car park as it was noisey from guests leaving early or returning very late. Helpful staff .

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front car park.

Me and my Mum were visiting family in Swindon so needed a hotel that wasn't too expensive and close by. We stayed here for two nights in June 2013 but also stayed 1 night in April 2013 and a couple of nights this time last year. The hotel was perfect for our needs (booking in advance is recommended for the best rates) as it was literally 5 minutes away from family. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel and the staff at check in/out we're friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel. The rooms were nice, basic and clean. I personally found the beds and pillows too soft but my mum loved them so that is just personal preference. I'd say the only disappointing things I found were the fact that the mirror isn't near any plug sockets (which made it difficult for straightening my hair, but the room comes with a hairdryer which was next to the mirror) the TV only has very limited channels (freeview is free in this day and age so should be on all TVs) and the bathroom felt a bit dated/unloved. The hotel has free wifi which actually works pretty well in the rooms (I've stayed on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor rooms) however it wasn't working the first night of this stay. Overall, a good fit for purpose hotel and will definitely be staying again in the future!

Stayed here last July (2012). Staff very friendly & helpful. Room very basic but couldn't fault. Very clean & comfortable. Didn't eat at Hotel as was on a very tight budget. But there is a McDonalds very close by. Only stayed for 1 night. But would recommend for cost & cleanliness.

For a budget hotel this was well worth the money. Our only drawback was that it was packed with
builders working on a nearby supermarket renovation so breakfast was a hit and miss as to whether there would be anything left if you arrived after 7a.m. The staff were helpful and everywhere was clean and comfortable. I would certainly use them again.

We stayed a night at this budget hotel. Rooms were fine but we had a particularly bad experience during breakfast. Quality and choice of the breakfast spread was good. However, one of the staff were rude and discriminated us. We reported the incident to the manager who did do any service recovery (no offer of refunding our breakfast which we paid extra or discount of any sort). I wrote to the head office to follow up the issue after a week. Only an acknowledgement was received and no reply to date (after 10 days) explaining what actions they have taken.

The "New Generation Campanile Swindon" - great! But they seem to have forgotten about
the standard of TV's in the rooms. OK, they advertise "flat screen" TV in each room
but with only BBC1, BBC2, ITV, ITV2, Channel 4 (which didn't work anyway!) if you are
spending any leisure time in the room then the Campanile is not for you. In Swindon there
is comparable choice of hotels e.g. Holiday Inn Express, Premier Inn and even the clean
Travelodge all have flatscreen & freeview TV channels making a stay of any length more
enjoyable. Perhaps this French chain think that the English don't watch TV but in 21st
century its not much to ask for more choice, especially when Freeview is what it says - its FREE!
