My previous visits to the Horse and Jockey pub at Ashton Keynes have always been very positive and after reading the previous review, I had no hesitation in taking my family there for Sunday lunch. Alas, there were several disappointiments. Firstly, the pub allows their two dogs to wander around the restaurant area begging for food from the customers, one being a large Red Setter that puts his head on the tables! The dogs had to be constantly removed by the staff and should never have been allowed in that area. We had drinks with our meal and the glasses were all dirty with limescale(probably fromn a dishwasher). When the meals arrived, they were generally good but the beef was not very tender and the vegetables were undercooked. On the positive side, the prices were very good value for money. Not sure if this place has changed hands recently, but our experience wasn't the same as the perevious reviewer last October.
We all had a roast beef lunch with all the triming
