“Welcome break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

I challenge you to get a bigger more lovely welcome than you receive from the lovely Jackie. Arriving exhausted after a long drive at 8pm I was given a big hug- just what I needed!!!!
I slept on a cloud in a beautiful bed and then was treated to an amazing breakfast, a little opera singing and a lot of giggles.
Thank you Jackie, you ARE the Hostest With The Mostest!!!! Xxxxxxx

A wonderful guest house and the friendliest hostess you will ever find. The building is really an old post office with lots of history...do ask. It has been lovingly restored and improved, with 5 rooms decorated to a high standard, such comfortable beds, nice furniture, and Sky sports for those who want to watch. A great night's sleep.

Breakfast is a work of art, the full English uses local produce, the best bacon ever and supurbly presented. Good choice of cereals, fruit juice, fruit, breads, etc, you will not need to eat again that day.

Jackie loves people, and will make sure you enjoy your stay. Great conversation and a fabulous voice - just ask to hear a little opera. You will leave for work with a smile on your face.

Room Tip: From what we saw they are very nice. We visited with two friends and there room was very nice too.

I'm a regular visitor to Jackies amazing B and B. from day one I have been made to feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are cosy, spotless and have high quality furnishings. Breakfast is amazing ! Mix all of this with Jackies humour and attentive service ( as well as other members of the family on the odd occasion) means this is a true find . Lots of larger more expensive hotels could learn a thing or two about British hospitality at its finest. Well done Jackie and Roger I can't recommend it highly enough.

Stayed here for a few weeks while working in Swindon during week. Jackie (Landlady) is so friendly, always seems to exceed your expectations, making you feel at home and welcome. You feel nothing you need is too much to ask for. Use her Microwave, washer etc.
Rooms are very comfortable, beds are amazing. Free fast Wi-Fi, parking.. etc. The best bit is the breakfast, too die for! Full english is dangerous for the waistline but a real treat and must be tried. Definitely 5 star and should be 6 if I had option. Book in advance as far as possible as it’s only a small place and so you’re not disappointed.

Room Tip: book early

What a delightful place to stay and what a warm welcome awaits the traveller from landlady and opera singer, Jackie. Be prepared for friendly hugs and, if you're lucky, some beautiful singing from the lovely lady. It is a charming old house and the furnishing and decor are immaculate and tasteful, with plenty of attention to detail. Fresh cut flowers in the bedroom and Sky television were much appreciated and the bed was so comfortable. It is the attention to small detail that really impresses. Though travelling alone, I was upgraded to a double room. My ensuite was rather small but I really loved the bedroom. A delicious breakfast was served by Jackie who was attentive throughout. I would return again and would recommend the Old Post Office to others - it was very good value for money and a cut above many impersonal and boring hotels that I have stayed in previously.

Room Tip: Book early if you would like a larger room.

I am probably going to shoot myself in the foot here by reviewing this place - but I feel it necessary. Jackie - who runs the place - is a darling. She made me feel totally welcome - food is great by Southern Standards (us northerners are hard to please - very spoiled by my mum up North!) - the rooms are immaculate albeit a little small for a six foot guy like me - but overall this place is awesome. Excellent value for money - I for one will definitely be back!

What a nice B&B and what a nice landlady. The rooms are beautiful (only our bathroom was a little to small for me) and romantic decorated. The breakfasts are great (even the non-super standard breakfasts) and the landlady, although a little crazy, is lovely!
