We visited Darley's for the first time this year as part of the celebrations for my better half's 40th Birthday. We went with another couple and between us had more challenges in terms of food allergies and preferences than you can imagine - the staff did not bat an eyelid. The waiting staff were informative and more than happy to talk to the chef for advice. The chef actually designed a menu for my mate who has some serious issues with what he is able to eat.

I have eaten in some high end restaurants where even if you can afford to eat there they still make you feel uncomfortable but this is not the case at Darley's. They seem to know what level you want to be engaged at. Whilst they are always attentive those that want a more discrete level of service get just that whilst those that want to chat and engage with the staff are made to feel more than welcome.

The food is excellent and the ambiance is fantastic. The wine list is excellent and covers all price bands - you can get something very drinkable for around £20 or pay £200 plus if you wish.

I wouldn't want to eat every week for no other reason than it would leave nowhere in the local area for those special occasions

We live in Nottingham and this was our 4 meal out this week. It was outstanding and left World Service miles behind.I loved everything about Darleys. The service was fantastic and the food was excellent .We have booked again for next December. We paid over £600 to eat in the Burj in Dubai and Darleys was so much better than a 6 star restaurant.Trust me don't listen to people who don't get out much.
We travel a lot and eat out lots Darleys is a little Gem.Well worth a visit.

A recent visit to Darleys - still as good as ever. Wonderful setting, comfortable surroundings, great service, wonderful food - expertly presented. 10/10. Esp with great company, a few bottles of the Red stuff - back home for an afternoon nap to sleep off the port!

Whenever we travel up from the Cotswolds for a family visit we always insist on making a reservation for lunch or dinner at Darley's as part of our weekend. We have never been disappointed and last Saturday lunchtime was no exception. Warmly greeted on arrival by the owner we then enjoyed pre lunch champagne and nibbles whilst choosing from the menu. The bar staff were friendly and attentive and we were then shown to our table by the window overlooking the river. The pressed ham starter was really tasty and I followed that with beef for my main course (beautifully cooked) and a chocolate/banana cup for dessert. Lunch is great value at £25 for 3 courses and is served in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. An absolute must if you're in the Derby area. Cant wait for our next visit.
