“Glad we found it”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

A lovely location in a quiet backwater. During our visit the garden looked particularly good, many varieties in the rose garden, condition of the plants (many old) extremely good, many with exhibition quality blooms. Thankfully not a busy place, not on our day at any rate.

A reasonable entry price and a wonderful location for the little patio cafe where you can sit on comfortable seats looking down on the garden. Pay entry fee to the pleasant young lady in the cafe, don’t miss the tea and cake, very reasonable.

Very unusual curved walls at the top of the rose garden, sun traps just waiting for inspired planting. The condition of the grounds with clipped hedging, lawns and many perennial borders are a testament to many hours of work.

Only one unisex loo near the garage but the opportunity to peek at the posh motors should not be missed if you have to wait.

“Annual Snowdrop Visit”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

We make an annual pilgrimage to Hopton Hall for the snowdrops. Well worth a visit. Even the children don't mind being dragged there. Especially when there's the incentive of homemade cake at the end!

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

I've been several times now at different times of the year.

I'm impressed with the walled garden and the improvements made in the last months to the tea rooms and facilities work well.

The owners are normally around and willing to stop and have a good old chat with some of the history and plans for the future.

Well worth a visit.

“Overpriced”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

£4 each to see a few snowdrops in a little wood and a garden with no flowers(as it was winter) seems a little extortionate. Maybe close for winter or vastly reduce the admission fee. Not impressed!!

“Snowdrops everywhere!”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

Visited here for the snowdrops and we weren't disappointed! There were snowdrops everywhere, despite the wet winter.
The gardens are well kept, and would be wonderful in summer too when the roses are out. The staff were friendly and the food in the tea shop was very good - homemade and very tasty!

We will visit again to see the snowdrops and the summer flowers.
