A lovely location in a quiet backwater. During our visit the garden looked particularly good, many varieties in the rose garden, condition of the plants (many old) extremely good, many with exhibition quality blooms. Thankfully not a busy place, not on our day at any rate.
A reasonable entry price and a wonderful location for the little patio cafe where you can sit on comfortable seats looking down on the garden. Pay entry fee to the pleasant young lady in the cafe, don’t miss the tea and cake, very reasonable.
Very unusual curved walls at the top of the rose garden, sun traps just waiting for inspired planting. The condition of the grounds with clipped hedging, lawns and many perennial borders are a testament to many hours of work.
Only one unisex loo near the garage but the opportunity to peek at the posh motors should not be missed if you have to wait.
