Visited this hotel with friends on 22nd to 24th November 2013. We went on a secret escapes deal, which provided two nights B&B, afternoon tea, tickets to Chatswood and a free bottle of wine. The hotel is right next to the station and was the first railway hotel ever built. It was bright and friendly and so were the staff. We ate dinner there on the Friday and it was so good, we ate there on Saturday too. The souffle with parmesan cheese sauce was excellent and i had it two nights running. Afternoon tea was very good with a glass of fizzy, sandwiches, scones, fruit tart and cakes, plus tea and coffee.
The surprise extra was that one of our rooms had its own ghost, who pulled at one friend's bedclothes on one night. The management later confirmed that there had been sightings of spirits previously - me, i prefer gin and tonic.
I will certainly go back.
