Used to go regular when in Derby used to be part of the mile run along Ashbourne road into the centre. The pub seems to have lost some of its character

Good pub with a lovely atmosphere in the evening. In a good location with off street parking just round the corner a vernon gate. Nice food, the chips were lovely homemade style. Would recommend.

I have visited this establishment twice now and feel i should have reviewed it after my first visit. The food is fantastic and the range of ales fabulous, the sample trays are a must. The staff are couteous and the atmosphere delightful. In the winter you'd be best to get there early and grab a table inside, the coutyard is brilliant for summer dining but a little chilly when the nights set in. The heaters give a slight 'warm' but bring a coat anyway. The chilli burger is highly recommended.
