“A magnificent and peaceful retreat close to derby centre”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

A magnificent building, one of our smaller cathedrals, bright and airy, being for the most part of white and gold. Apart from being an atmospheric house of God it appears to welcome all.

“peaceful”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Not a large Cathedral by any means, but well worth a visit. It is built by the river and seemed relaxing away from the shopping area. A group were looking up to see the peregrine falcons that nest there. Good picnic area in the grounds.

“A different sort of Cathedral”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

This is not an ornate flashy building. It is almost minimilist inside but also quite beautiful. I liked the pew for the city council with iron representations of symbols on a screen in front. There i a lot to see and you can climb up the tower for fabulous views of the city. There are also peregrine falcons that nest here annually and a web cam is set up so you can see them.

I love interesting buildings especially churches and cathedrals as you can learn so much of the local area.
This was very nice with welcoming staff.

“Lent lectures excellent”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

The free (yes, free) Lent lectures have been excellent - and short at 30 minutes. Just long enough to enjoy and not too long that one gets bored and starts wriggling on the pews!
And there is a free lunch in 'Amen Corner' of sandwiches and a soft drink. What more could one ask on a bitterly cold day than an interesting 'talk', meeting with like-minded' people and a free lunch.
Go and enjoy! (The Cathedral is pretty amazing too).
