“Clean and Tidy, just needs a little repair work”

The booking process was really easy and we upgraded to a suite.
The hotel is really handy for a variety of attractions, we visited Alton Towers which was a half hour drive away.
We stayed in Room 1. It was a really lovely room, but a few niggles would be that it needed to be maintained a little better. - The balustrade needed repair work, a handle has fallen off one of the drawers, there is a chip in the front window and the room seemed to have a lot of condensation on the windows (no black mould - just wet windows),
The staff were very friendly and polite.
Breakfast in the morning had a nice selection and was help yourself.
Bed was quite comfy, but as a double it could have been better as a king.
Would I stay again? If it was a one night stay then yes, any longer then probably not.

Room Tip: A suite is really lovely as its massive, but suite 1 needs a little repair work

Stopped over at the Littleover Lodge on a Saturday night. The booking process through Booking.com was easy and we got a good rate. Also, the Lodge was very easy to find as it is situated close to the A38. From our room, our view across countryside was impeded by the powerstation chimneys at Loughboro. As another reviewer stated it is a Motel rather than a Hotel. The room was clean and tidy but could have done with a bit of a spruce up as it is a bit on the tired side - particularly the bathroom. Amenities were ok although the hairdryer did not work and the ironing board stashed in the cupboard had definitely seen better days.

We checked in in the afternoon and then went out for the day returning in the evening. Unfortunately as the restaurant is open to the general public and was very busy on a Saturday night, we were unable to park outside our room and had to park at the far end of the car park and then walk to our room. Not necessarily very far but would have been grim if it had been raining. Perhaps a "resident's parking area" might help!

The bed was a bit soft but the sheets were clean and the TV worked. We had breakfast on Sunday morning which was ok with plenty of choice.

I would use the Littleover lodge again as a stopover. It is cheap and cheerful and pleasant enough.

My mother invited a few family members to lunch with her today 15th September at Bentley's at the Lodge and we enjoyed an excellent lunch. The dining room is large and airy with comfortable well spaced seating with external views from some tables, Good food, well served by a well turned out female staff who were friendly and attentive. The area for predinner drinks is not large but is well appointed with comfortable seating. We dine here occasionally and are never dissapointed, today was no exception.

Stopped there on way back from Cornwall and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Anton, the manager, met us with a big smile and that set the scene for the night. Yes it is a little isolated but after 7 hoursdrive all I wanted was a drink and decent food.
Unfortunately the restaurant was booked with a wedding but the bar menu was good enough with a lovely lamb steak being my best pick and superb tasty mint gravy.
Bar staff were really friendly even when ourselves and a few other guests decided on an impromptu late drinking session.
Unfortunately we did struggle to make breakfast time but the staff did help me recover from my hangover by supplying me with some food to help me on my way - cheers
Anton - even though busy with the wedding still managed time to talk to us and was great company - we hope you have a great holiday back in Sardinia in a few weeks.
Rooms were comfortable and clean - bed was great but think I could have slept on a washing line after the drinks

Room Tip: Be prepared for a few slamming doors from 1st floor - not sure why

While our bedroom could have benefitted from some remedial panintwork, we found our short stay comfortable, the breakfast and the evening bar snacks.substantial and satisfying. I am not a motel style hotel fan - especially if it had been a wet day - but the weather was dry so our short walks to the reception and bar were pleasant.

There is a two seat swinging chair in the garden and a field to view from the front.

We stayed only one night on a family visit so cannot really comment on much more

We have eaten in the restaurant here many times over recent years, including Christmas. We have never had a bad meal here. The restaurant has been renamed but apart from the decor we found little had changed. There is no a la carte menu now but the fixed menu is varied enough, although too many items incur an extra charge we thought. We ate early and the service was not bad, apart from a fairly long wait for the main course. We noticed that most people who arrived after us had a very long wait for starters and main courses. The waitresses were all very efficient and polite and overall it was a good experience, a very nice well-cooked meal, well presented and nice and hot.

We stayed here in late June whilst visiting friends and relatives. We normally stay in a Travelodge so this was a nice change and we were looking forward to a good breakfast next morning which was included in the price (£60). We had no complaints about the room which was clean, comfortable and airy. I particularly liked the free wifi and the modern tv. It's a quiet location so we slept well. The bathroom was clean and I'm always pleased to see a bath and shower rather than just a shower. So far so good. We went into the restaurant for breakfast where we were confronted by the waitress, a pale tired-looking wraith who looked as though she should be back home in bed. We were crossed off a list of guests at the bar and sat ourselves down. We were not told what the procedure was for breakfast, it was several minutes before we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee and we did not get our toast until after we'd finished breakfast. Whilst we were eating several other guests came in, like us, not knowing where to sit or what the breakfast arrangements were. We were so concerned about the waitress we asked if she was ok. She informed us she had been up most of the night being sick! We have no wish to blame the waitress as it was patently clear she was too ill to work. She told us she had to come in as there was no one else to cover for her. I have no idea whether or not the management were aware that the waitress was ill, probably not. However, some guests may not have known the waitress was ill and would have put the dilatory service at breakfast down to poor quality staff. We informed the manager before we left, not wishing to get the waitress into trouble but we thought the problem at breakfast should be brought to his attention. It has not put us off the Littleover Lodge and we intend to stay again in the future.
