Premier Inn Gloucester (Twigworth) Hotel
Ranked #12 of 21 Hotels in Gloucester

Five of us stayed in three bedrooms on a Saturday night in July 2012. We chose the hotel because it was near to Gloucester and looked easy to find. This proved to be the case. The car parking was good and only a short walk from the reception desk. We were running late and had missed our dinner reservation. However, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who sorted it all out. The dinner in the Table table restaurant was pretty standard fare but was nicely cooked and well presented. Our bedrooms were spacious and clean and we all had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good, with lots of choice, although it was very busy and they kept running out of items (although they were quickly replenished). Excellent value for money.

From the moment we walked in to the clean reception area we expected a high class trip - and weren't disappointed. Kath and Zoe brilliant on reception and really helpful - catered all our needs. Room slightly small but perfect for stopover / short break.
Pub next door definitely needs a mention - breakfast served by Lisa and Dan (the manager?) nothing too much trouble. Was snubbed slightly by another staff male member but the other two more than made up for that. Good dinner also - food and service just perfect (sorry - can't remember any names!). Had the bacon and cheese topped chicken and my friend the rump steak. Perfect for what you pay. Good offers on also.
Overall 5 star stay and would definitely go back!

We chose here as it was a good place to meet up with old college friends from different parts of the country and we planned to visit Gloucester docks. We found all the staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Although our room was on the small side it was spotless and at the back of the hotel - very quiet, with a nice view over the fields, perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Our friends, who were staying 2 nights all had lovely big rooms - room 26 was huge.
We chose to have the meal deal £22 each for 3 course dinner with a drink, and full breakfast - excellent value and good food.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back lovely and quiet, sizes do vary, worth asking for one of the larger rooms if you p...

Usually stay at Little Witcombe premier inn when coming down this way which I would rate at 5 stars for everything, however Twigworth is a whole different story, dogs tied up outside barking in the mornings, cobwebs and spiders in the room, kids running up and down the corridors knocking on doors, inefficient restaurant again full of spiders and cobwebs!!!
I shall definately not be coming back here.

We stayed at the Premier In (Twigworth) in August 2012.
The hotel was small, and friendly. Our room was spacious and quiet. The bathroom was clean and well lit.
We weren't planning a breakfast, but the morning after the night before, nudged us into partaking in this excellent service. My husband certainly got his money’s worth with his enormous plate of porky products.
I'd have no trouble in recommending it to friends and family.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel look out across fields rather than the car park.

Twigworth Premier Inn is an old Victorian Pub with additional rooms built on. This premier inn is a bit quirky and in some ways unique. It was not built as a Premier Inn - and there will be differences in size and space in the rooms.

Breakfast service and quality was excellent. Staff excellent. Cleaning to a good standard. Loved the location as it was well placed to explore the area.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful and we were promptly checked in. Room was small, but very clean and comfortable, when I mentioned in passing to reception that the room was small, they immediately offered to move me to a bigger one, but I was happy enough. It is however an older hotel so the floors upstairs are creaky and noisy, so if you are a light sleeper, (I can sleep through anything so no bother), it may be best to ask for an upstairs room. No road noise however, so that's a big plus as you can leave the window open - the rooms being a tad on the hot side.

Restaurant? Really wonderful staff, very cheerful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was good with big portions and we ended up buying Meal Deals for all 3 nights - I can recommend the steak , lovely!

Overall, sure, the hotel could do with a bit of a revamp, (apparently its a listed building so that may constrain Premier Inn), but over all, a nice hotel and I would stay again.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, ask for an upstairs room.
