I have just returned from a two night stay here. As my title suggests, I thought this place was excellent value for money. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. The breakfast was tasty and the service was friendly and efficient. The two big bonuses for this hotel are the free parking and the location as it is only a ten minute walk to the centre of gloucester. When booking I would spend the extra and get at least a superior double room, I think it is worth the extra money.

Stayed for 2 nights on a visit to Gloucester. Located about 10minute walk from the centre. RIght from arriving the owner was very helpful, pointing out location of places to visit on a map.

The room was beautifully presented and clean. Personal touches were appreciated. Beds were very comfortable and blinds completely blocked out daylight so it was easy to sleep in.

Nice gardens full of grape vines behind the hotel. We were invited to help ourselves to grapes on the way back to the room.

Great breakfast with helpful attentive staff, who fulfilled everyone's orders accurately.

Watch out for the quiz on the place mats linking to all of the pictures on the walls in the dining room.

Can't believe some of the other reviews on here we found the hotel a pleasure. Refreshing change to the faceless Travelodges and holiday inns. Would definitely use again if we are in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden

Just stopped there, everything looked clean and tidy from the outlay. BUT...
Firstly, struggled to get my sports car down to it, thanks to the terrible road surface to the carpark.
Hotel seemed fairly pleasent until walked inside....
Bathroom absolutely stunk, dont know what it was but it was terrible.. had to leave the bedroom window open. Damp/mouldy patches on bathroom ceiling, shower worked backwards (hot was cold and vice versa). Shelf in bathroom had stains and missing paint! (how much is a tin of gloss?)

Everything laid out ok in room but couldnt help notice 1 of the tea spoons was still dirty! (i dont drink the stuff luckily).
Worst of all. late on in the night, go to get into the bed and find hairs in the bed and a couple of stains on the sheets!
As suggested in other reviews, they appear to discourage you from wanting an evening meal when you read the info in the room.. Yet still offer one.
Breakfast looked edible but i didnt dare try it..
Although i wasnt there on booking out, my partner says she bought up all these issues to the staff who offered a "do not care" attitude.
A little effort could no doubt up the rating...

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. Our room was very nice and comfortable with a spacious ensuite bathroom. It is in a very good location close to the station and the town centre. The parking was also convenient. WeI would certainly pick this hotel again when I visit Gloucester.

No noise at night a good nights sleep. It is very good for getting into town 5minute walk, or bus stop outside hotel.Breakfast was very good. Will visit the hotel again.

Room Tip: we had room 14 double bed and single bed ground floor rear of hotel.
