“Finally got a table. Well worth the wait”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Don't expect to be able to walk in and get a table. This place is BUSY!

I have BBQ beef brisket to start and it was phenomenal. So tender and really flavoursome. I absolutely adored it. Then for the main I had curried goat and it was brilliant.

I loved the atmosphere, and the staff are brilliant. I felt like I was at the owners house for tea. Such a pleasant atmosphere. Even better was the fact that tables just seem to start conversing with each other.

Great food. Great atmosphere.

“Friendly, good food and nice atmosphere”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Great food and welcoming hosts.
Note to owner- there isn't a need for you to offer 50% off the food bill with voucher type websites etc. Your food is worth 50% more than the menu price, not 50% less!
Note to customers- if you do feel the need to use these vouchers, well that's up to you, but leave a big tip to compensate!!
Will be going again very soon

A tiny restaurant packed full of flavours, smiles, great smells and big portions, I loved my experience here. I'll definitely be eating here again and telling everyone I know to see and experience for themselves!!

“Staggeringly good!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

This has to be one of the best places to eat on the face on the planet. It's no surprise that the reviews are so good. We had never had the chance to sample African food before and had no idea what to expect. We were not disappointing. The first class service starts when you phone to book and are talked through what to expect and reminded to bring your own alcohol. There's also a pub next door that where you can bring a pint of cider through from, as a couple of other diners had done when we visited. The atmosphere is so laid back that it's almost falling over backwards but somehow managed to run like a well oiled machine. Don't expect a traditional upright waiter service at this place. What you get is a very refreshing taste of African hospitality where the staff sit down beside you, explain everything clearly and end up on first name terms with you by the end of the night. If Carlsberg did customer service they would have to consult Charlie and Wanja first. The food itself was amazing. We went for the veggie option, but kept an eye on what the carnivores where being served as well. Nanos aught to be quaking in their boots! The veggie platter was delicious and enough to feed a small army but so tasty that we just had to clear the plate. The two side dishes we ordered seemed surplus to requirement but were so good that not a shred was left over. The delicate blend of spices was not overpowering and managed to reach every corner of the palate. We were left feeling like we couldn't eat another morsel but the temptation of the puddings proved too much to resist. We wont get another chance to sample them anytime soon so it seemed a shame not to try them. The result was the same as it was for the main course, delicious! So, onto the bill. Two huge mains, two sides, two puddings and fantastic time had for only £26.80! That is amazing value. On the practical side, there is a car park opposite and the restaurant is very easy to find if you're not from area. The pub next door is a good place to sit for a while in it's garden and let the feast settle before attempting to waddling back to where you will need a good sleep. Top marks all round for this place. I'd recommend you get here before everyone hears about it and the franchising goes nationwide. If this does happen, I sincerely hope they open a few in Scotland.
