Found this place as we came through the arch after visiting the Cathedral. Lovely atmosphere staff are very friendly and polite. We decided to have one of the cream teas... there were various choices to cater for different tastes. We had the Cathedral Tea. It was lovely and delicious. The scones were nice and warm, absolutely fabulous. It was the right amount of food and very good value for money. Totally recommend this lovely place.

This is right by the Cathedral close and fits in beautifully with its surroundings.
It has a lovely gentile feel and a calm friendly atmosphere. We ordered the Bacon Brie and cranberry sandwich and a side of chips, with a pot of tea.
Food arrived and was fab, the bacon was warm so the cheese was melting, the bread tasted fresh and the filling was huge, the chips were also delicious. The only down side was that I didn’t have room for pudding, which looked very inviting
The staff are very good, friendly and efficient
Definitely worth a visit.

I stumbled across Lily’s after visiting the Cathedral, and have to say that this was the highlight of my trip to Gloucester. This classic high tea was truly wonderful and meets all expectations of a classic British tea. The service was very pleasant and accommodating and the food and atmosphere were exceptional.

What a gem! the reviews say it all. My friend and I had breakfast at Lily's based on the exceptional reviews. We were not disappointed. The most courteous owner greeted us on arrival and offered us a seat of our choice.
The breakfast is served from 09:30 until about 11:00/11:30. There is plenty of choice: We settled for a Full English, consisting of bacon, sausage, fried egg, hash browns, baked beans, tomato's and mushrooms. Various sauces of your choice is offered.
This is complimented with either wholemeal or white bread. The cost includes a pot of tea (not just a cup) and filter coffee (with a second if required). It is £11:75, this includes the coffee or tea with bread of your choice.
A continental or variations on the English breakfast is also available.

The outstanding service with a genuine smile from Jemma supported the breakfast. Well done Jemma.
The restaurant / tearoom is spotless. It is possible to see into the kitchens. This a think is always a positive advert. The washrooms are immaculate.
The location in a 'old world' narrow lane opposite the Cathedral makes this a unique experience.
Our only regret was that we could not stay for lunch or high tea. We hope another visit in the near future. I suggest a look at their web site for further information.

This tearoom / restaurant is truly exceptional. I have travelled the world and now well retired. I must say that it has been a long time since I have experience such a super opportunity.
