Lily's remains a firm favourite after many years. Centrally located near the Cathedral and opposite Beatrix Potter Shop, the hosts are so welcoming, the food excellent and the service very good. The choice and range of food is very good indeed, and my hope remains that one day I will not be too full from the main course to enjoy one of the delicious looking desserts! I have yet to have a disappointing meal here. The fact that it remains so popular after so many years in operation is testament to the quality and service it provides. On our list whenever we pop into Gloucester, but love taking friends here as well who are visiting the City. Cannot fault it.

We popped in here as we were visiting the area for the weekend and had just popped in to see Gloucester Cathedrel. We treated ourselves to the full celebration afternoon tea, which was lovely, with sandwiches, scones, cakes and a pot of tea. There was plenty for two and the food was really delicious. The staff were very friendly, it was good value and I would highly recommend Lily's.

We pop in to Lily's on most trips into Gloucester. It is always warm, friendly and serves great food. It is ALWAYS busy which says it all really. We love it here!

This was our second visit to Lily's and the first time as a family of four. After visiting the "Tailor of Gloucester" house opposite we were hungry, especially after searching for all the mice Simpkin the cat had hidden under the tea cups and saucers in the Beatrix Potter house. Our plans were to have a Cream tea for my wife and myself and a small lunch for our two boys aged 2 and 4. Having previously had a cream tea at Lily's we couldn't wait. After we had been seated we read the menu and quickly decided our choice's. With horror we then noticed cream teas weren't being served until 2pm. The time was now 1pm. With 2 hungry and impatient boys with sweet tooth's we were now faced with a dilema. Did we leave and come back at 2pm or feed the boys something else and potentially miss out on the planned cream tea. Having resigned to the fact the latter would be the scenario we made our orders with who we assume was "the boss". Understanding our dilema she asked us that if we met her half way and waited while the boys ate their light snack she would bring out the cream tea at 1.30pm. Such a simple gesture but anyone with children will know how hard it is to pursuade the little one's they have to wait an hour or we leaver and come back so they can have their scone's. Believe me I have walked into cafe's/restaurants less than five minutes after they had stopped serving toast on the breakfast menu with my 2 boys and been refused toast point blank, being told breakfast had now finished. Try explaining that one to a child. Lily's is a great place to drop in whether it be for a coffee, tea, lunch, snack, dinner etc. The service is friendly and quick and the food is excellent. Well worth a visit if you're in Gloucester. Thanks again "Boss lady" (sorry didn't take your name. Maybe you're Lily?). We will be back. The Martin family, Mike, Zoe, Aaron & Oscar from Worcester.

Enjoyed a celebratory birthday breakfast here recently - the menu choice was good, with some nice options for breakfast rather than just the usual full English. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being too intrusive.
We were offered drinks upon being seated and give time to peruse the menu. Food was very good - we did have to wait a while for delivery but this is a good thing in my opinion, you know that it's fresh!
Absolutely beautiful location overlooking the Beatrix Potter Museum and Shop and the archway through to Gloucester cathedral.
There are a few steps up to the Tea Shop so access may be a bit difficult for those with limited mobility.
